Hi
My DS is in Sec 2 this year. I would like to ask what determines whether you get your choice of subject combi? Does the school take overall results and then rank students just like PSLE and those ranked on top will get their choice first? or is it based on your strength (subjects that you scored well?)
thank you in advance for your replies. -

In the curriculum booklet, JH 3/4 subj combi criteria are spelled out.
Exactly how the posting is done is not explained. -
Thanks Jennifer but there is only promotion criteria and not subject combi selection criteria. I hope the briefings will give us some insight into this. Btw, is it difficult to get a place in triple science class?
Thanks -

According to DS, there are criteria to meet to get to do advance humanities or advance science. All others do triple science as a standard subject combi. Thanks Jennifer but there is only promotion criteria and not subject combi selection criteria. Most students take triple science if they are not taking the advanced LA/Humanities or Man&Ideas. -
Thanks all for the replies. Appreciate it

Hi,
Could anyone advise if the IP students are mixed with JAE for their form class or tutorial group? Understand from DD they are now attending lectures but no tutorial group thus far. When would they be assigned tutorial group?
Understand they are now grouped by OG. Anyway,my DD is from NJC's IP track and in SH1 this year.
Am curious how many JAE students are accepted to SH1 this year? Can someone share?
Thanks in advance.

I understand that they attend lectures together, but not tutorials. IP will be grouped with IP for tutorials. But my DS also SH1, so this is what he tells me.Hi,

I think JAE always take in about 400 plus or minus every year. Not sure if this yr is the same. -

JAE students usually do not join the IP cohort tutorial class.
When my elder boy was taking ELL, there were 3 JAE students among the IP students. That year, ELL has only one class.
