Math CA1 today. 2 papers down :rahrah:
i am trying to take it easy...but you know it's easier said than done.
for CA1, passing all the subjects (50-55) is important even if it's just marginal. after that, it will be scoring better marks bit by bit and then by prelims, i hope we can reach high end of 60 and perhaps into getting A for psle. -

Janet, Well done to your DD for finishing 2 papers!
Yes we should celebrate all the small successes.
My DS2 got most of CA1 results yesterday and results were pretty much to expectation - lower than his potential becos of lack of revision time. Since he had tournaments running concurrently with exams, we put rest before studies, so the results came as no surprise.
Like Sembgal and Janet said, its a journey this year...I choose to think that things can only get better

MrsKiasu,
A is 70-75.
SpartanMum,
yes, celebrate the effort…bearing in mind it’s the big picture we are working towards. when the child is sitting for a major exam, what is more important is the BIG picture. -
Thanks Janet.
-
Wait, i thought A was 75-90?

MrsKiasu:
Thanks Janet.
you are welcome MrsKiasu.
when is your daughter taking her psle?
i am more worried about daughter's comprehension OE.
if the passage is tough like yesterday's, i can conclude that big ticket section is a gone case. -

in 2019. Not only dd need to learn. I also need to learn. I heard of Band A but in my mind I really don't know from what marks lor..and paiseh to ask also. From P1 to P6, the band A will be of the same range? And since 70-75 will be A, the band A will be from 70 onward?MrsKiasu:

Oh gosh, my dd is not only weak at one area. I can only hope that she could catch up by starts of P5. -
MrsKiasu:

no need to feel paiseh...we are all learning something new everyday...at the rate MOE changes regulations. grades are moderated according the results of students taking psle that year. -
MrsKiasu:
No need to be paiseh. My 2nd psle and I still don't know what are the range for band 1 or is it band A. Never figure out how to estimate t score either. Not like whether I know or don't know will have any impact on the gradesNot only dd need to learn. I also need to learn.
