Anyone sending their children to Mindstretcher centres at Yishun or Sembawang? Which is the best out of the lot?

Recently, understand from a couple of parents that they are withdrawing their kids from Chinese enrichment classes in Jurong Safra. Appears that there have been a lot of changes with the Chinese teachers and the parents were upset. Just my two cents worth.

I am withdrawing from mind stretcher too.

They call it high achiever math but the teacher feeds the answers for the children to copy.
              What for?
And there is no care for the children. They let the kids go to the toilets on their own! This is a public mall. What kind of service is this/
Writing to their head office is useless.
              Enough is enough.

Hi all, I’m looking for their P3 Maths, Science notes and worksheets.

Do PM if you are letting go or selling away at cheap price.

                Thanks

                  Mindstretcher @ Bukit Panjang Plaza:

Pretty disappointed with Mindstretcher, I would advise all parents who keen to sign up for your child, do give a serious thought before you enroll as they are accepting only top student and no wonder it is branded.

I have signed up for 3 subjects: English, Maths and Science. I withdraw English very soon when I started to revise the paper and noticed that it was too challenging for my child. Also, the teachers from the others 2 subjects have made comments to withdraw my child out from Mindstretcher due to his dyslexia. Although he scored 60+ for CA1, which I think they are looking at 70 and above. If my son can score "A", I will not even give any tuition as now education is so stressful.

Quite sad about it, but think it over their papers is pretty tough and may be a waste of time and stress for the child who can’t cope.

In the first place, Mindstretcher should learn from others centre to test on the child ability before any registration and not deprive the child instead of motivation.

Does anyone face the same issue? Or anything to share on or suggestion?

I think having notes and purchased notes over for self studying is quite pointless. At the end of the day, nothing beats a good teacher who is able to pin point the mistakes that a child makes and teaching him/her how to avoid such mistakes in future.

I am quite against testing on child's ability before acceptance at centers unless it is something like high achievers or the gifted class. I didn't let my kids try HA even though they qualified based on sch grades. They are still/were in the Achiever classes.

Hi, does any parents here have your kids with MS’s (BP plaza branch) P1 English and Maths Head Start program? May i know the teacher-student ratio and your comments about this program?

I’ve enquired with Kent Ridge Education Centre (Junction 10) and found it not too bad. But looking at the fees, seems like MS is cheaper, comparing based on the class duration (only).

                        Thanks!!
