Hi my girl is currently in P3 and she goes to Morning Star Hougang after school. She’s been there since P1 and so far it’s been ok. It’s the first drop off point as she’s taking school bus.

Although there is an increase in school bus fares, school bus operator failed to communicate a "significant" change upfront. In the past, the monthly fee was collected on 12 months basis, pay 2 months’ fees in Jan and Oct for Jun and Dec payment. Now it’s collected 10 months, no payment for Jun and Dec, hence the increase on a monthly basis was much higher compared to 2015 fees. But after annualized it, the increase is 20% for mini van. Switched to bigger bus this year since we just need after school service.

Min yang transport just contacted me early this week … through the phone , the admin mentioned it’s 9months bus fare for 2016…

Recently my girl got back her class test (maths).primary 1
19/40,was kind of disappointed because she practise maths everyday since k1.but luckily this is non weighted test.means not included in report book.its purely class mock test .
Teacher also didnt let parent or kids know indavance that today will be math test .have anyone of you experience that before?
Currently she is not having any tuition class due to financial issue.
May i know how to help improve her maths.she been doing many assessment book since k1 .2page per day.
Just hope i can get some advise here like how to practise with her.maybe i been teaching her wrong methods or too lenient.is 2 page too little ? -

Now that your girl is in primary school, the school is teaching more maths concepts so her foundation has to be strong. In this case, quality is more effective than quantity. I think the comparative concepts including \"more than\", \"less than\" etc, and the MODEL METHOD are being highlighted. So the use of marbles, beads etc can help your girl visualize better. By primary 6, these types of questions will be more complicated as they will involve more than 2 comparisons.Hello everyone here.hope my question is in the correct thread.

Study the questions in this 1st mock test to gauge the type of questions being tested. There are many assessments books sold out there that aren't good - repetitive formats that don't get the kids to think a little harder. Explore books such as 'Visible Thinking\" by EPH written by Ammiel Wan or \"Step by Step\" by EPH. -

You can also ask other P2 parents in the school for past year P1 papers so you can look at the type of questions being set by the school. -

It maybe her first time to do a test within a time frame, and hence was nervous. Is good to know why she's not able to do those that she got wrong. During practice, if she's able to understand the concepts then can it be due to careless mistakes? -
