The school nearby my house will be newtown primary school but I heard the school is not good. My mum stays in clementi and if i use her address will i be in phrase 2c within 1km? Or 1km to 2km? I do have the plan to have my boy goes to my mum’s place after school but he is spoilt by my mum so I am worried that he will come back home everyday without touching his school bag

Using guardian's address will always put you in the 1-2km bucket, even if the address is within 1km. And if you are eyeing Nan Hua in Phase 2C, I would recommend you save all the trouble and just go for Newtown which is right next door to you. -
Thanks for your advice! I am thinking should i go for Qi fa pri at clementi? Anyone has review on the school? Newtown’s location will be most convenient… dilema… 1.8km from my house to fairfield… do I have any hope?

There's no dilemma. Reviews matter only if you have many choices or if you still have a realistic chance of making a choice. At this stage, you are limited in your options and is really down to maximizing the choice of getting into a primary school only.
You have no hope for Fairfield, so that's out of the consideration.
You can do a statutory declaration that your mom is the caregiver and use your mom's address to apply for Qifa (Phase 2C 1-2km). Afterwards, you hope/pray for the best - either no ballot for 1-2km or you successfully ballot for 1-2km. Qifa has yet to ballot for <1km so you should have a chance to ballot at least.
If, unfortunately, you fail at the ballot for Qifa, apply to New Town in Phase 2Cs. This school is rarely full even after Phase 2Cs, hence, should be quite safe as your last option. -
Thanks Floppy! You advice are very true…I am just in a self denial stage hoping for miracle to get into fairfield… sigh… i need to wake up soon!

just curious what will happen if 2C failed go 2Cs and still failed

Actually Qifa is not that bad. It was founded by Char Yong Hakka Association and I wanted to put my son there previously. There were quite a few Chinese Mainland pupils there as it is not a very popular school. My son did not go to Qifa because we shifted.
I suggest you go down to the schools to take a look. I went down and it is in an estate surrounded by terrace houses, quite quiet. Try to think far ahead, like transportation, accessibility etc. Perhaps you would like to consider your child’s ability too.
Fairfield’s Mathematics is very difficult. I know because I used to tutor a P3 girl in Math and Chinese. Nanhua’s Chinese standard is higher but their Math paper is easy.
I put my child in a neighbourhood because I feel that he would be able to cope with the demands of school work.
My 2 girls are born in 2010 too. I will ballot for Aitong because it is nearest my home. If they cannot get in, I will go to their korkor’s school because there should be surplus seats available.
There will be schools with places available. MOE/ schools will advise you if you fail phase 2C. Just that the schools may not be near your homes. Don’t worry. -

MOE will ask you to nominate a few schools (that still have vacancies after P2CS) you would like your child to be posted to. In the event that parents do not want to nominate, MOE will post the child to a school nearest to the residential address (which may be kilometres away).
