Mummy twins: Greetings everyone!

As for 'spoiling the childhood', I wonder if in Singapore, there are any children left, particularly in K1 and K2 who even have a childhood anymore, what with kindergarten and enrichment classes!

there are still a fair share of singaporean kids that bearly go to any enrichment classes.
and for some kids that do go for enrichment classes, they do have their fair share of playtime.
all play and no work and then later on having to play catching up...that will really spoil childhood, wouldn't it? -

Jedamum, I totally agree with you. I wanted my children to enjoy the kind of childhood that I had, which is why other than Kumon for maths for them from this month and Ballet for my girl, they have not gone for any enrichment classes. But after going through the posts about preparing for P1 and also seeing how much further their peers are in reading and maths, there are times when I doubt if my decision was the right one.

Well c'est la vie and there's no point in worrying about it now. Guess I'll just have to increase the pace now in K2 and think they've had fun for close to 6 years and now's the time to study! -
vividlaurel, don't worry, you are not alone. I only send my girl to ballet and piano, both she asked for and enjoy. She also attended speech and drama lessons in English when she was in K2 but that was cos it was offered in the childcare she was at. So we agreed since she's keen and it's convenient. Other than that, nothing else...unless you count the adhoc lessons from Mommy.

Thanks schellen, it's heartening to see that I am not alone! Like I said the otherwise ad-hoc lessons from Mummy will now have to be more regular... -

Hi vividlaurel
Well I believe that children are resilient and if you feel that your children, and most importantly you can cope with the school, then by all means go ahead with Tao Nan. Remember you can only register in one school during Phase 2C and if you have registered in one school and then want the other, you need to withdraw from school 1 and go to school 2 to register.
yes, you're right...children are indeed resilient. I suppose this is just an overly-worried mum.... I think I should make a trip down to both schools and check it out to get a better sense of what both offer and focus on - academically as well as otherwise.
Chief: Thanks for the info. on balloting for twins. Indeed helpful and I didn't know that before. -

Haven’t visited the KSP site for a while, and am pleasantly surprised to see the posting of msgs on multiples. Me a mom of twins too, fraternal, gals. Just celebrated their 2-yr-old birthday last week.
Just dropping a note to day hi…
