      One question.

Is it better to go to a nearby neighbor hood school or travel from Jurong west to Bukit Timah to Nanyang primary?

Also which is a better move, to change my address to less than 1km to Rulang Primary to get phase 2C balloting or just be an alumni for Nanyang Primary and get a direct entry. Is phase 2C(if i live less than 1km away from the school) a high change for primary school admission? Because I know parents can only get 1 chance if fail to enter, we will be randomly given any school nearby...

Buy a house next to NYPS and stay till PSLE over

Sell it after PSLE and make a pile of profit as prices around there had dropped now and likely to recover after 6 or 7 years

thats exactly what i am thinking actually.

      buy a house + PV

(since i am not an old boy)

        [quote=\"Sinny\"]Hi all,

Is it true that we have to select certain CCA for DSA?

How should we choose the CCA, do we choose based on the ideal Sec school we are targetting?

Reason is my DD is not in any CCA at P2, and I intend to start her in P3. Which CCA should I choose?

And is it most with DD will aim for NYGH and boys aim for Hwa Chong Sec?

Hope parents who had been thru could shed some light...and advice...

P/s: I am hoping she will go to a secondary school which nurtures her and not always about high scores.. I know my DD and sometimes she can feel extremely stressed out at schoolwork..so not sure if NYGH is an ideal target..

I think most important is choose a CCA that your kid likes. No point choosing based on what the sec school DSA need. If DSA based on CCA need to be school team standard for sports CCA. So unless your kid like the CCA diff to be so dedicated to the CCA and excel in it.

Some CCAs use paper and some online. DD went online to apply for her CCA. Hers needed audition, so she went for it after her online application and luckily got in.

It was a specific website, but the registration period was long ago. Now over already. Sorry, we did not keep the URL info. DD is P4. I am a lazy mum. So I don't really bother if she has CCA. She was selected for Chinese dance in P1 but she didn't like it so I let her drop it in P3. She did not have CCA in P3. And just picked one herself this year.

What CCA is good for gals? For those who can’t take too much stress (like no need exams, not too much practice require)

My girl was actually selected at P1 for Chinese dance. Ie while others who choose this enrichment course needed to pay for the lessons as a enrichment class, we did not need to pay for her. The school pays. So I thot Heng lor. Then that lazy girl says the moves very pain. Don't want to practice. Aiya, I think just her excuses lah. Bottom line- too lazy. I can't be bothered to argue with her. So told her ok to drop Chinese dance, but must continue her piano lessons at Yamaha. So we struck a deal.

I really dunno what is good for girls leh. She is so argumentative that when she said she wanted to join debate club this year, the whole family, including her bros agree that it will be ideal for her. Hopefully argue so much in school will have no energy to argue at home anymore :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Really, let your child do what interests her. It is better.
