2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take

#1 / Girl / PR
Considering Gongshang as first choice and Yumin as backup, under 2C. Both are >1km from our block. If I understood the ballot history correctly, there has always been balloting for SC >1km at Gongshang. Yumin always have balance seats. Which means PR stands no chance at Gongshang. Please correct me if I am wrong! Not planning to PV and application has closed anyway. Will be applying for SC (not for enrolment advantage but because I studied here since primary school and my girls will grow up here too, so may as well convert now). If not SC by the time of P1 registration, we will just enrol her at Yumin to save time and effort.
I canโt find much info or discussions on Yumin. Is anyone familiar with the schoolโs culture and performance? -

You have taken a safe route. No need art of war.Hi fellow Kiasu parents (KSP),
So the route we're planning is 2B for Kuo Chuan & if that fails, we will try for 2C Marymount.
Are the steps taken by us logical by KSP's art of war? Appreciate any tips and advise.!

Hi Cherrygal,
You have taken a safe route. No need art of war.
By taking this safe route, does it also mean its the most sensible one for our scenario? -

Hi is this thread still active? First time here and I Guess I am incredibly late!!! But better late than never! Thanks qms for starting this thread. Was totally clueless (and ignorant) about this whole PV thingy until late last year when my Cousin told me she was joining one. Got me curious and went googling for the schools nearby my place. To my horror, I was actually too late to sign up for PV under nyps! I thought I was already being KS enough checking it out when my kid was in N2.. But no :lightrod: Quickly went on to sign up for another nearby school who had the deadline as 31 Dec 2015 and I had to submit proposals!?!?! I thought I left school a decade ago! Anyway, in a nutshell, ignorance doesn't pay and you might bleed if you didn't get the physics of Pri1 registration sorted. So thanks to this site I have been much enlightened. Pls keep each other updated/ posted on the latest happenings!!!

Even if you managed to sign up in time for PV in NYPS, there is no guarantee you will be accepted by the school. So don't worry too much about it

Hi, would appreciate any advice or tips as we are still quite confused about the options.
#Daughter (eldest)
#born 2011
Weโre living within 2km from the following: Hong Wen, Farrer Park, St. Margaret, Bendemeer, and Stamford (within 1km).
Weโve narrowed down to 3 schools: Hong Wen, St. Margaret and Farrer Park.
We are going to apply for PV for Hong Wen (open in May) as our 1st choice for its Chinese culture.
We have no affiliation to any of the 3 schools but prefer a co-ed.
We are thinking of going for 2B for Hong Wen with PV, if that fails then 2C for Hong Wen. Worst case then 2C supp for Farrer Park.
Is this thinking logical? Are we allowed to apply for same sch under 2 different phases?
Thanks loads! -
Good luck with your PV application at Hong Wen,
because failing that, you can pretty much leave Hong Wen
out of the equation.
For the past several years, Hong Wen had needed to
ballot for those living within 1km in phase 2C. Since your
home is in the 1-2km range, you won't get to ballot at all.
You can see Hong Wen balloting history http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/kallang.
