daughter’s science ca paper wasn’t tough…open ended section could have been better if she put in effort…as usual the ‘explain your answer’ kind of question pulled her down.

I think I am a slacker hahaha, never plan any revisions at all. Hubby said holidays, let them relax. Gal had tons of school hw which she hasn’t got started yet. Some classmates took the opportunity to go on short vacations too.

Just wondering how to deal with slacker kids?

My only weapon....nag into submission. Else take away what's important, aka phone/computer use until work is done.

your daughter has tons of school hw to complete. to plan any more on your side will be overkill. daughter doesn't have much school homework, so i am able to plan some work for her.

i have a question to ask.

at the moment i plan revision to do 1 topic from lower block science, 1 topic for upper block on another day. but i can’t complete all the topics in time for SA1. what should i do to ensure she is able to handle those topics not revised? thanks.

I would do more of upper block, then put in more time for the weak areas in the lower block?

will it help to do the past year exam papers since there might be some questions from those topics?

Usually SA1 exams papers will likely to be killers, I’m not sure if the schools want to wake these kids or their parents up and get them to revise as much, that’s my observation.

Half of this March holidays is over. My dd does not have much homework so spent time practising math. There IS a lot to revise for all subjects. But I need to be realistic, based on dd’s ability. Especially for math. Cannot expect dd to get from a C grader to an A* student by PSLE. That will cause more harm than good.
