Why did the mentor write such words? There were no such remarks before.leooel:
In the report last year, there is an \"affirmation of character excellence report\", which said that DS \"was awarded Affirmation of Character excellence forms\". What is the meaning? THX!
It's the blue merit form that teachers can give out. -

Hi, dear all,
I am a blur sotong mum, but it has come to the time to wake up seriously, as my eldest is P6 now.
Just to ask for the opinions, as for my eldest and me to consider whether to apply NUS High via DSA based on the points below:
1) We are staying at Hougang, I think the journey is relatively far. But, my eldest loves the school…
2) She is a member from concert band, will it be good enough to apply?
3) Her result isnt very good, normally she scored ard 80 to 80++ for EL, 70++ for science and maths, ard 60++ to 70++ for mother tongue, I am afraid her result might not be good enough to apply.
I am so sorry to disturb you all but really need some opinions as do not want to waste a lot of time to go around schools on their open house.
Thks in advance -
I would say, no harm applying if your child is interested in NUSH and willing to travel. If NUSH feels your child has potential, then she will be selected for a 2-day camp and if she’s good, she will be shortlisted after the camp, to join NUSH. Never try, never know.

I would think come to the Open House, look at their curriculum, listen to their talks, talk to the students and teachers at the booths to have a feel of what they are doing to see if this is really the school for you.Hi, dear all,

My advice is you do not have to go for many Open Houses, just select a few of your choices, focus on them to find out more.
Just to share, I went to NUS Open Day last week, beforehand, I selected a few fields of study that are of interest and on the day itself, I went to the respective booths, talked to the existing students and teachers to find out more on the curriculum, as well as attended the talks. It will be more effective if you plan your schedule beforehand as sometimes time can be quite tight.
Hope this helps.
Btw, come to the NUSH Open house, the students have put in a lot of effort to welcome you.

Hi,
Thks so much for the replies. My girl told me she loves NUS high after the talk conducted at Rosyth last week.
There are few tip top schools presented the talk, but she prefer NUS high.
But when I talk abt the distance and the school fees, she starts to be hesitate.
I asked her what are the other schools that she is keen to apply.
But she said it doesn’t matter, just any of the school nearby will do. As she doesn’t want to add on to our burden.
We are a single income family with 3 kids, I quit my job due to my 2nd, DS is diagnosed with ASD.
My heart feeling very pain as I noticed she is giving up.
She used to request to learn piano, we rejected as we can’t afford.
Then she attended concert band audition as she said it’s free.
She gave up her Maths Olympiad as she said the fees is high.
She told me not to do anything for her now as its kind of running out of time.
She told me to focus more on my youngest, as the youngest is P2 this yr, still hv time to do more for her.
On the other hand, she encouraged her sister to join badminton as she said Rosyth’s badminton team is strong.
She told me not to worry for her, she will definitely pass her PSLE, but no promise on good result.
Oh dear! -
Hi mumof3kids,
Your DD1 is so sensible and mature. She will definitely do well in her PSLE.
