Best to play it safe for dragon year baby. If a school is popular in a non-dragon year, it should be ultra-competitive for dragon year babies given that vacancies aren't likely to increase.
PV is an option to get ahead to Phase 2B, or alternatively, go back to the parents' schools in Phase 2A. -
me too!
my dragon boy is due for P1 in 2019 and I’m now looking at schools…
i have 4 primary schools within 2 km.
what should i start to prepare now?
so stress lor… -
Has any of you start on PV?

Having 4 primary schools under 2km is meaningless if the schools are going to ballot for SC < 1km.me too!

The first thing to do is to eliminate those schools that you won't stand a chance. -
Reporting In!!!
I have a dragon girl too! i have another horse girl… Gosh! You mean PV registration has already started for some schools!!!
I have been doing my ‘homework’ in selecting schools… don’t know what to look for but for sure distance and convenience is the priorities. If the pri school is super overwhelming, should i take the chance to ballot??? Since the distance is >1KM??? By the way, can anyone advise whether Teck Ghee is a good school? It’s so stressful… Gosh!!! -

If the primary school is super overwhelming, anyone staying beyond 1km is effectively ruled out.Reporting In!!!

Working on the worst case scenario, i.e. assuming you fail the ballot in P2C. Need to consider the options nearby for P2Cs (historical data) and whether you are comfortable with them. If yes, go for the ballot in P2C. If no, go for a \"safer\" selection in P2C.
If, unfortunately, your neighbourhood doesn't provide you with any or many P2Cs option, then go for the \"safer\" selection in P2C. The worst case scenario could land you in a school many kms away.
