      Snow24:
      Hi

Anyone can share on the hp usage rules for your maid? When and how long do you let them use the hp? Do they have the hp with them whole day?

      Thank you
my rule is only HP after 9pm or after she done all her work.. cos else she will kept looking at her hp and neg the kids...

i gave her wifi ..so she can chat with family or shop online or surf net .. up to her ...

a few times i need to work after 9pm and ask her to look after the kids and i caught look gluing her eyes to hp instead of the kids hence ... STRICTLY no HP during day time ..only after 9pm

So do you keep her hdph until you return home from work? If not, how do you know that she doesn't cheat?

on weekend she also din take it out til 9pm

this was the agreement before employing her .. and she stick to that agreement

Snow24, please be strict over the usage of HP your helper. I made the mistake of not setting it right the first time and also before employing her. Now my maid she hold her hp 24/7, and she is always glued to the phone, either yakking, texting, on Facebook, watch YouTube, listen to music etc… It’s disturbing especially she also does that when taking care of my baby. The best way I feel is to keep her hp and only let her have it after working hrs and be done by certain time, or they would be so addicted to it. My one can use it till past midnight. It’s really irritating.

totally agreed .. that is the advised i got from friends too ... that is why i set the rules since begining cos they really glue to the hp and neg the kids ..if the kids are old still can take care of them selve but if it is baby or toddler then it is dangerous...

i also interviewed or saw some maid with 2 hp ..no sure why they need 2 hp .. and i have also heard some will hid in toilet to \"cook porridge\" or watch drama ...

i also made the mistake of letting my prev maid hold hp whole day. she claims sometimes her family members need to find her urgently. maybe i was inexperienced then cos she my 1st maid. in the end she uses it in the middle of the night and take sexy photos of herself when no one at home in the daytime and fb…toilet trips more frequent cos she needs to check her hp.

she is alone wiht my baby in the daytime. now with this new maid, i only let her use alternate nights after 9pm. i keep the phone and pass to her at 9pm. she must put the phone outside my room before 12mn. no wifi for her…she buys her own card. no reason why maid needs to have hp in the daytime. if family got urgent matters, ask them to call you then you inform your maid. if they dont dare to call you, means not that urgent after all.

You are really good in controlling your maid usage of the phone. Will take note and set this clear to my next maid if I am going to get one to replace current maid or after current maid's contract is up. Maybe will do the same as you. 😄

sometimes must also see if maid willing to cooperate with you. some maids dont like u to control then give u black face…mine initially when i collect her at the agency she say only need the phone once fortnightly. after 3 months, she ask for more frequent so we negotiated to the current arrangement. but daytime hp is a definite no no!

if the maid decided not to renew contract

what else must we do beside buying air tix for them to go back …
also do you include excess luggage for their tix ?

Agree when maid to return home, buy air tix. send her to airport and wave goodbye? I usually exercised bag checking (usually in the guise of helping her to pack). too many first hand accounts of missing monies (talking about in thousands) and missing jewellery after maid goes home. Then again, remember that they can always do it BEFORE - my vintage toys were missing after the second one left.

Depending on our relationship and how much barang she has, I will determine if excess is required. Usually, if normal air, no excess until at airport; if it's budget, I may pay extra. Usually I will tell and remind them how much luggage they entitled to - so they don't go crazy buying.
