Perhaps they wanna see how the kids will perform in tests which they could least prepareNebbermind:

Yes, that's what the principal said too...the selection test and subsequent camp are the most important. But I am puzzled then... the relevant awards must mean something, no? Otherwise why would schools, including NUSH conduct such competitions which require resources? If nothing else matters besides the tests results, then what is the purpose of providing information on achievements? That would only increase the workload of the DSA process.... I agree if a student performs well for the tests, the test results would supersede all other results. But it can't be simply based on solely the test results....? -

There is likely a positive correlation between the achievements (if have participated) and the test results. Like the presenter said, NUSH does not give preference to the Geppers but they already have a natural advantage anyway. -
There is Einstein Club. So I think NUSH already sort of pre-identified a group of students.
They still need to sit for selection test but I suppose students in Einstein Club should have a rather good chance of receiving COs if they do apply to NUSH.
That's my impression lah. Don't ask me for evidence :siam: -

The math/science olympaid awards will, among other things, be taking into consideration for awarding NUS High Scholarship in Year 1.yap_susan:
I called NUS high to check about Maths Olympaid awards. Apparently the screening test is a determinant. Seems awards are not so important as a criteria. Have , have. Don't have also never mind.

My son got silver last year. Just wondering if it can add to profile.

Thought they only want "gold" achievers. Well, got hope.

Einstein club members will receive invitation to apply for DSA and they are auto induced into Einstein Plus when they join NUSH but I am not sure if the same applies for this year. There is Einstein Club. So I think NUSH already sort of pre-identified a group of students.

So far I know those received invitations to visit OH and take up some Y1 modules in P6. Some of ds' friends accepted and if they do well enough (sch expectation is very high hor), they'll start with Y2 modules (of those subjects) next year if they enrol. :salute:
