Must go to top schools, otherwise will be surrounded by samsengs, riff-raffs, lazy students, students with bochap parents and various other bad influences. Or something like that... :siam:

Since moe now wants non-acad talents for DSA, mabbe I can train ds to 吟诗三百首 while doing PSLE math paper while you can train your gal to dance to Lake Swan while doing PSLE Eng Compo. Together, they'll impress the invigilators! :rotflmao:

To close the gap without dumbing down the top schools, care must be taken to ensure that the kids do not have even less time to smell and admire the flowers , which is one stated objective of the revamp.

Actually those super wealthy(aka super connected) who is in the race is for the prestige of being top students and scholars.

I know of people who can afford any university in the world but die-die must become a scholar by getting a scholarship for the branding and prestige, then return to pay back everything immediately and do not need to serve a day of bond, yet known as a scholar.

Of course, the backup is, failing which, they will pay to go to a good uni lor....

It's for the recognition, affirmation, confirmation! Prestige? Only selected scholarships la. The bulk of it's quite ordinary and \"mass-market\". If you can get Rhodes, that's what i call truly \"prestigious\".

The bursaries are targeted at the economically challenged.
