FYI, Kenji (fm class 1A) was told to bring 1B TB last Thu (15 Apr). As for tests, I think there’s one upcoming this week for Chapter 1-2.

VVJJ, my son bought back Chinese folder to sign those other mini-tests papers. I was feeling concerned too cos in the absence of updates & not having seen worksheets being done, I wonder as well what’s going on? But having seen the updated folder, I am not that worried, especially since my son shows that he can do the work. Unlike you, I don’t have another set of folder (1G) to compare so understandably you are worried as compared to your 1G son’s work.


Honestly, while I do wonder many times, especially reading blogs from the other teachers & hearing updates here & there if 1F teachers are doing enough, I TRY to think positively that they are competent. It’s beyond me cos I don’t sit in the class to observe so I tell myself not to get so stressed up. I trust that the HODs are aware what the teachers are teaching because the teachers have to write down & submit to the HODs to check.

Did you receive back the mini chinese test papers? So far, I have only seen 1 which is the test during the CNY week. After that, i have not seen any. I'm a little concern as my 1G boy has been bringing his papers back and this 1F boy has none. Besides, my 1F boy told me his class has already started on 1B chinese text. His chinese tutor raised her concern as well as she finds the teacher may not have build up the foundation and moving to 1B is not a good idea after all.

So far, I'm still impressed with 1G chinese teacher. She really motivates the boys and their moral is high. I just feel 1F teachers are slacked (both English and Chinese). I maybe wrong hence seeking opinion here.

I also saw the chinese folder recently....after quite a long time...was starting to wonder how's my son doing in the mini-test and listening comprehension. Still manageable for now. I too hope that the update and return of papers for parents' acknowledgement would be more regular. Yes, they started on 1B textbook; I think the oral test in week 7 will cover til unit 6 which is in 1B textbook. VVJJ, think of it as a bonus that you have 1G and 1F \"comprehensive\" coverage Let's hope the teachers know what they are doing and that our children are coping fine We can share notes on this forum...

My son is quite interested in all this martial arts stuff, so I think he will be signing up for it. His eyes twinkled when I told him about the notice he had thought that it would be like badminton where selection is required.

I had completed the form and attached the cheque for the wushu class. But I did not tell my son about dropping it at the GO since I thought there are a few more days before the deadline. However, today he went to GO by himself and submitted the form....so enthusiastic :lol:
