All About Ballet

Oh My Gosh:
some of my friends' daughters failed in ballet RAD Grade 1 and 2, last year :One of my friends asked me \"Passing marks for ballet is only 40 (out of 100 i.e. 40%), versus 100 (out of 150 i.e. 66.7%) for piano.
So does that mean ballet is easier to learn and excel as compared to piano? And in ballet, you hear a lot of girls getting more than 90 marks, but a >140 marks in piano is simply remarkable\"...
I am quite lost in her comparison... :?
so even 40 upon 100 for ballet ... is not easy to get, for some.
not true that all girls who take RAD ballet exam, can pass.
think many parents assume that once their daughter take ballet exam, sure to pass. But, not always true.
in fact, in one community centre : a few girls from RAD various grades :-
Primary grade, Grade 1 and Grade 2, had failed. So much so that the ballet Tr who had taught these girls before, quit already : either quit on her own accord (embarassed, for causing the girls to fail), or due to parents' complaint(s).
so, for those who intend to send your daughter to a community centre to learn ballet, before enrol your child in, best to ask the Tr in charge :
what is the passing rate like, from previous batches who had gone through RAD exam before, or have any student failed before under her ?
(don't just blindly assume that all students have passed, if u don't ask)
sometimes, student failed : can be because of student's own learning attitude. Other times, can be because of the way the Tr teach.
eg
Tr biased, show favortism, keep focussing on certain girls who can dance very well already, while keep neglecting the weak ones, who actually need even more attention from Tr, but did not receive, unfortunately, so in the end, failed.
There are such ballet Teachers around, because they rather concentrate on a few good ones, help them get Distinction, so that later on they can gain credit by telling other parents who sign up that Yes, ever got girls graduate under her who scored Distinction, while neglecting the weak ones whom Tr regard as unlikely to do well, so in a way \"sacrifice\" the weak ones.
Sometimes after lesson end, u can hear the weak student telling or whispering in low voice to their parents, outside their classroom, eg : \"Papa, my ballet Tr always keep focusing on X today, she did not teach me much today ...\"
btw, very, very few can score Distinction, for ballet.
usually, a lot get either Pass, or Merit. -
Getting a distinction (above 75%) is good already, actually I seldom heard of girls getting above 90% especially grade 4 and above.

By the way, for April exams, usually by when will we know the results the earliest? Early May?
