Come to think of it…I realise its only the filipino maids who interview the employers! Haven’t heard of Indonesian maids interview employers. Anyone know of such cases?

        Well, they're more choosy now.
When they know I've 3 kids, they reject the job order.

3 kids more??? thought these indo maids have lotsa bro and sis back at home :?

Yes, but some of them do not look after siblings themselves or worse still if they'er the youngest....they do not lok after anyone. LOL! So I do not take maids who are youngest in family. 😎

My household is one of those which is suppose to be a haven for maids (no elderly, child is already a teenager) and only 3 of us and yet maids are just not contented and do not know how fortunate they are working for me.....!!!

For all the flack that we've been grousing...here's a sobering tale of one maid who truly cared and loved (extracted from asiaone site):

SHE loved them so much that she was even willing to lay her life down for the girls. On Saturday night, Indonesian maid Puji Astutik died proving her love - and saved her boss' one-year-old.

Ms Puji, 28, was crossing the road with her employer, Mrs Lam's younger daughter, when an SMRT bus ran into her at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Street 52 and Choa Chu Kang North 6.

She flung the baby girl forward but was pinned under the wheels, The New Paper and Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao reported

Today's ST Forum has an article about a mother of 3 who had a postgraduate and decide to be a full-time mom is doing without a maid. I also have a few friends who are like her. Their main reason is ... either way is hard work, so might as well not live at the maids' mercies ... :udawoman: their solution was part-time help and family support.

Haiz... My maid accidentally spilled hot boiling water on my DD2. :faint: I want to send her back asap just because she isn't remourseful at all. She was a very good maid, I trusted with my 2 DDs (DD1 - 2.5 and DD2 1.4) I understood it was an accident partially my fault as my kitchen gate was broken and I had no time to replace it. But I cannot stand her bo chap attitude, acting as though what happened was not a big deal. My DD2 had 1st and 2nd degree burns.. :stupid: Can anyone help me? What's the procedures like? I wanna send her asap but her agency has gone bankrupt. Very stressed!!!!

                        :?:
