Yeah, it's called the drilling strategy. Totally useless.
this drilling method isn't going to work because questions are picked randomly from each topic. if the student has not been taught in-depth, there is no way he/she can understand what the question is testing. this is a very scary way to prepare students for exams.

That’s right. I wish teachers can teach properly.

I thought I had the luxury of commencing revision in June. Got a rude shock when I realised last week that Science in SA1 comprises all topics from P3-P6. Seow liao lah!! We will just our best for SA1 because I forewarn my gal, no pretty SA1 results, no DSA(sports). This is her motivation to get into her dream team in sec sch. Crossing fingers!

Gal did a past year Maths paper at school; lucky results still acceptable…otherwise I sweat!

how can this be considered PROPER preparation for mid year when teachers just zoom through? i had a rude shock when daughter told me her teacher has already completed the science topic when i just began. the teacher is not at fault...probably the directive from the top wants things done this way. our AIM is the PSLE...so i shall not be putting too much stress on myself and daughter for this mid year.

last night, daughter told me she is worried for her LC and compo...told her to move on since it's pointless thinking about it. looks like this june will be a packed schedule since it's the last long 'holiday' before term 3.

Yes, June is the last long ‘holiday’ before term 3… Oh well, I have to look for external help. You’re going to get retribution, teachers!

I went to take a look at the schedule I planned earlier for June 'holiday'.
Have to reschedule entire 4 weeks again...especially after this kind of horrendous kind of 'touch and go' kind of teaching.
With no external help for science (actually i terminated tutor's services), I have to spend more time on it.

for Science, would it be better to write notes? I think MP mentioned something along that line…and after I went through the subject with dd…I kinda thinking probably yes.

Someone whose 2 dc got into IP taught me this strategy. She said one month before PSLE, must switch to lower gear, take it easy, everyday watch a bit of TV, a little exercise, and just revise lightly.

She said by then don't know means don't know; no point cramming coz it'll do more harm than good. I intend to follow her advice. Hope I don't sabo my ds. 🙏

. I intend to follow her advice.
it does sound reasonable. cramming anymore will lead to burnt out...but brain needs consistent revising so as not to forget.
