Singaporeans/ PRs or Distance only comes into the selection criteria for any particular phases. They are not a phase by itself. For example, phase 1 is registration if the kid have an elder siblings studying in the school. If the demand more than supply, they will give the available places to Singaporeans first. If the demand is still higher than Supply even for Singaporeans, they will allocate the places to those staying within 1 km first, then 1-2km, and >2km. Then if the demands still more than Supply for Singaporeans and within 1km for any phase, then balloting is done.

No, register for the student care after your kid is allocated a place in the primary school. You can check with the General Office for the application form after the P1 registration. One stress at a time πŸ™‚ :rahrah:

Hi all parents, need some help here for register my gal to the school near my home at Bishan st 24. My gal is a Singapore PR.

Did not consider Ai Tong, I think no chance to get in at all. Nearby school left Kuo Chuan, GuangYang, Marymount Convent, Townsville, Teck Ghee, Ang Mo Kio & Jing Shan primary school. All these within 1-2km from our home.

Any advice which school to go to? Wanted to enrol her to Kuo Chuan (nearest to our home), but I afraid it is also popular and not able to get in (we are in Phase 2C).

Hope to get some help here. Thank you very much.

                    SPR in Phase 2C, 1-2km:
Guang Yang, Marymount Convent, Townsville, Teck Ghee, Ang Mo Kio and Jing Shan are all 100% safe bets. You have 0% chance with Kuo Chuan and Ai Tong.

Thanks floppy for the reply, what will be your advice for the remaining Primary school? Not going for Convent because I have another younger boy. How is Guang Yang?

\"How is\" is unfortunately not a question you should be contemplating. PR, Phase 2C, 2km - your first priority is to secure a place. You can refer to http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/singapore-primary-1-registration-school-balloting-history to guide you.

These schools are not popular because they are normal neighbourhood schools, i.e. the same as 80% of other schools out there. They are neither good nor bad. Just pick the one that makes sense in terms of distance / logistics and avoid balloting at all costs for PR.
