Yeh; my DD1 in P6 now also commented that DD2’s P1 work seems to be more difficult than her P1 time.


Btw, now I can’t offer any help for my DD1’s maths (especially maths olympiad) and science – they are way too difficult and tricky. sometimes, don’t even know what the question is asking - especially science.

Yeah these days the level for Math had been raised, getting tougher. Last night my DS told my hubby, teacher says fewer means minus (-) and DH had proved him wrong, just to share this question:


P1 Maths question:
Susie has 6 sweets, Henry has 5 sweets more than Susie. Susie has 2 fewer sweets than Ivan.
Q1: How many sweets does Henry has? 6+5 =11
Q2: How many sweets does Ivan has?

My DS solution for Q2 is: 6-2 = 4
Cos tr says fewer so minus and didn't read question loh..it should be 6+2= 8 (Susie has fewer, Ivan got more so Ivan's sweets must be more than Susie)
Phew! Luckily hubby is guru in Maths so he picked this up and explain to DS honestly some of the challenging questions, I too need time to think

Blurbee, i think it’s not compulsary to purchase the tickets - i remembered we didn’t buy the tickets one yr 'cos not free on that day. Now, i’ve got 2 dds in the sch; thinking of just buying one set, may be from the P1 only. I haven’t received anything yet; heard this yr’s family day is not in the sch compound; is it true ??
