Buying groceries, online or not?

Just like to share that you can make shopping of groceries easier by going online. Recently, NTUC Fairprice has been offering free delivery if you use OCBC Plus Card to pay for at least $50 worth of groceries. I have done this a few times and am satisfied with the service - prompt and reliable. Definitely going to very useful when my maid goes away in future.

Hi, there is new online grocery store called Redmart (http://redmart.com). They got sell things like diapers, wipes, milk powder etc. If spend more than $75, then got free delivery. If less then have to pay $10 for delivery. I think they even offer same delivery!

Hi! I was recently introduced to online grocery shopping for my dry groceries needs but I'm a little skeptical about it.. It's a tempting service, after going through a few nightmares carrying the many items together with an uncooperative baby..but at the same time the lack of response and usage of such services in Singapore is discouraging me a little.. Anyone has any experiences or recommendation?

Don’t see why not if the particular online shopping site has all of what you need. Or if you still prefer to shop and pick from the supermarket for more variety, can always buy above the specified amount and get free delivery. With baby items like milk powder, diapers) it’s easy to hit the minimum amount for free delivery from eg Giant, Cold Storage.

Not sure whether all NTUC offers free delivery svc for $x purchases. Hv seen customers at NTUC Bt Timah arranging for delivery at the cashier counters.


NTUC Fairprice online shopping now has frozen/fresh food delivery too.

Once a while, I shop online at Fairprice for bulky household items, delivery date n time up to me to choose. Very convenient.

I use Fairprice for online shopping. I’ve been using them for the past year, so I have probably ordered more than 10 times so far. They don’t do free delivery, but it’s $7 for orders above $60, and $10 for smaller orders. I accumulate my orders to make sure I order a decent amount (usually around $100) which would probably take me 3 trips if I carried the stuff myself, so I reckon that it’s well worth the delivery charge. They are quite heavily booked up, so I usually can’t get a delivery the next day and have to wait for the following day, but it’s not too much of a problem as I don’t rely on online ordering for urgent purchases. So far, they have always delivered within the chosen time slot and all items were delivered in good condition, so I’m happy with the service. I still buy fresh produce in between orders, but being able to get the heavy and bulky stuff delivered is a real boon for me as we don’t run a car. I’ve not tried any of the other online grocery services.

This service really saves me time and the extra trips.

Is it still $150? I recall it's been increased to $200 some months back. That's why I can't get my groceries delivered. Can never hit that.
