For online p1 registration, anyone where is the link? stresss... šŸ˜› Do we need Singpass to access?

Thanks!!!
The link is not available now. It will only be available when registration is opened for phase 2C.

Below is taken from https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/prima ... plementary

Dear Parents,

From 5 July 2016, selected e-government transactions involving sensitive data, including the Primary One Internet System (P1-IS), will require 2-Step Verification (2FA). This means that in addition to your SingPass ID and password, you will need to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) sent via SMS or generated through OneKey Token to access these e-Services.

Parents who intend to use the P1-IS in Phase 2C / 2C Supplementary are required to set up their SingPass 2FA. Parents should set up their SingPass 2FA early, well before the commencement of Phase 2C online registration on 26 July 2016. Parents should note that they will need to wait up to seven working days for a PIN mailer to activate the 2FA before they can perform sensitive e-transactions.

For more information on the 2FA setup, please visit the SingPass website.

Note: Internet Explorer 11 is recommended for optimal use of P1-IS.
Hi, is there a thread or where to find out the open house for the schools?

Thanks!!!

Primary schools don't normally have open house.
You can try contacting the school to schedule a visit.

I see , thanks!
Actually, as long as your kids do not run around and make loud noises, I think most schools are ok for you to bring them to take a look at the school. Just tell the guard you need to ask the General Office for permission. The best time will be June holidays where there are not many students in school.

Be careful, cos once you give up your phase 2B slot. If you end up not getting a slot in the Phase 2C slot, there is no turning back.

Yes I understand the risk as both schs most likely need balloting for 2C for within 1km. I would need a back up plan if I'm really going for Phrase 2C. Is such a headache. :scared:

If you ask me, I will rather go to a confirmed Tier 2 primary school, than to risk and end up going to a Tier 3 primary schools.

I know MOE is telling us all schools are good schools. Yes, I totally agree the curriculum of all schools are good but if a majority of the students have no interest in studying, our kids will be influenced. So I strongly believed it is wise to choose a \"better\" school in terms of the school culture and environment.

Hi Mummies,

We can be said as a new resident in Yishun ( just moved in here in 2015 ) and will need to register my son soon to P1 for 2017.
I need some advice on which schools are consider better. We're categorized in Phase 2C but thinking of the chances to get into Chongfu not high. šŸ˜“

The nearest primary school to our home will be :

a ) Chongfu
b ) Huamin
c ) Northview
d ) Xishan
e ) Yishun Primary

Please advise.
Northland is said to be the \"2nd best\" after Chongfu. I heard the ballot rate may sometimes be higher than Chongfu cos many parents want their kids to go to a reasonably good school with the stress level.

hi does anyone know if we can get Statutory Declaration done and in the end choose not to use it for registration?

Yes! Of course. You can apply SD but choose not to use it. I did that before and the record was in the MOE system. They asked me if I want to use my own address or the child's grandparents' address. It was a backup strategy, just in case I need it when I monitor that the school is oversubscribed and I need to change plan. That was 4 years ago experience.

Please note that if you use Statutory Declaration, say the child's grandparents address, even if the address is within 1 km to the school you are applying for, your application will be considered with those \"1-2km\" category. Only when one's personal address is used, then the category will not be \"discounted\".

Dear all parents,

I am new to this forum and my boy is due for primary 1 next year. And yes, I'm late to do PV and now I am anxious about my boy's school.
I stay in Tampines and my choice school is Gongshang primary which is 1km from my home. I heard this school also quite popular in Tampines. As I am in the phase 2C, I scare we might lose out in balloting. Next choice likely to be Yumin which is also 1km from my home.
Qns:
1) should I take the risk to go for gongshang balloting? From last year's stats, after phase 2B left 44 seats only. Anyone knows how many actually bid for the 44 seats in 2015?
2) what is the procedures for balloting? I see from moe website phase 2C starts on 24 July to 28 July.
3) for phase 2C balloting, if there are only 44 slots but after 2nd day registration, the school already has 45 registrations, will the school close registration? Or they have to wait until 28 July?
Thank you very much for helping! Appreciate! šŸ˜„
(1) Different years will have different demand and supply. Best to monitor and decide. Have back up plan in mind.
(2) Balloting is when the demand exceeds supply. If that happened, they will do balloting based on home distance. Say there are 50 vacancies with 40 SC within 1 km, 20 SC 1-2km and 10 SC >2km (SC = Singapore citizens). SC will get priority over PR, so in this case, PR will not even get to ballot. All 40 SC within 1 km will be admitted in and ballot will be done for the 20 SC 1-2km. The 10 SC living out of 2 km will not get a chance to ballot. Balloting is usually conducted a few days after the close of a particular category, before the registration for the next category starts.
(3) No, registration is not based on first come first served so it will not closed. The school will continue to accept registration up to the full registration period.

hi Oh My Gosh,

If we choose not to use the SD, we just need to inform the school during registration?
Yes, when you fill up the registration form, you will write in your personal address or use the SD address. But as what I highlight previously, even if the address for the SD is within 1km, it will still be considered with the 1-2km category.

i guess it all boils down to the child character .. can he take it

Teir 3 schs are those schs who still have places in phrase 2C Supp? Teir 2 are those schools which do no have vacancies left after 2C is closed?

I also need to ask, for the no. of registration in each phrase that is published in website like Edumatters, they do not show how many from less than 1km, 1-2km, etc?-- > this info we have to call the sch up everyday to ask right?
