1 semester per subject, so if you are taking > 1 subject, you get to pay more :moneyflies: Anyway, it's modular system, so per module usually last for 1 semester.

For those eligible for acceleration, I believe that they would have performed exceptionally well in eg SPSO, NMOS, IMSO, RSO during primary school.

The subject teacher and HOD would select the rate of acceleration at the level where the student would still perform well compare to the rest. Another factor, is that the student must also be able to cope with the additional Olympiad trainings and NUS modules that he/she will naturally undertake, which might take place during the evenings and weekends.

A teacher explained that acceleration in NUSH is done with careful consideration and very few are accelerated each year. This is because the student is expected to be an A student at the accelerated level since grades are counted in the CAP. There is a free NUS module where the student intake is drawn from the top performers of the related National competition.

Hi,

this is my boy dream school.
however he does not have any awards from any maths competitions though he has taken part in math olympiad, RIPMWC, nmos .
He is mainstream and from a SAP School. maths and science results in the high 80s this year. last year he managed to get A* for both subjects.

Any advice what are the chances for a mainstream student without any awards successfully getting in to NUS High. am worried it might be just a waste of time applying for the DSA.

ds 2 is going for the selection test this sat. I would like to ask if the science paper questions are within P6 syllabus or science Olympiad qns r included? Asked my ds1 who took the test 2 years ago but he said he can’t remember anything.

In the "Programme of Studies" document, the last column of the table of each subject’s 'Table of Elective / Enrichment modules", namely the "Semester" column

- does "1&2" means a whole year module?
- and "1/2" means a half year module, available in semester 1 and repeated in semester 2?
