Some of my daughter's friends are from photography club and infocomms club. They have only one training per week. But prior experience are required to get into these clubs. If I am not wrong, the members of the photography club are also mobilised to take photos and videos at school events, concerts organised by the performing arts CCAs and competitions.

Which often means time spent at the rehearsals as well as the actual events.

Actually all CCAs are supposed have at least 2 trainings a week now, this includes photography club. Not sure about the Infocomm club tho. Photography club members are also deployed to cover the school events like alng and slmkhoo have shared, as well as participate in national competitions and put on exhibitions, so it's not exactly a very \"slack\" CCA since a lot of the work is not actually done during CCA time but more of outside CCA time.
Personally, I feel that all CCAs are all quite demanding in their own ways, just that some CCAs' work are more widely known and recognised.

The tutorChen, please double confirm... not sure anyone can check it out! If she claims to be scholar, would expect First Class honor. if not minimum MUST be 2nd upper. Why would she pursue EEE??? My take, in internet world, always be careful. Think 2 years ago, recall there was a man who claimed to be top teacher from RI as tutoring Math or physics.. in the end was NOT! :rahrah:

First time posting.

My daughter's experience in infocomm club is good, she loves every minutes of it. CCA is twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. They have their own air-conditioned club room :imcool: . Each year intake varies, but this year vacancies are limited to only 5 girls :yikes: . Selection into infocomm club is very intense. Some girls submitted their prior projects as part of their portfolios; they then went through some tests to see if they can understand basic coding flow and talked about their passion :rahrah: for infocomm stuff during interview.

In the club, the girls learn coding, both for website and android apps, graphics, games making, servers and anything to do with infocomm stuff like html, javascript. They will also learn from each other too. The seniors will teach the juniors and the juniors will assist the seniors :grphug: .

Girls in infocomm take part in various competitions like appjamming, games making etc. Sometimes dd will do coding at home after her homework is done or during the weekends. Normally she is part of a team doing coding competitions that she likes; so ability to work in a team is a must. Most girls are good at coding and even the yr1 girls who just joined RGS this year can become semi finalist along side the seniors during the recent appjamming competition, so their skills are really good :salute: . Taking parts in competitions is compulsory for every girls in infocomm club. The girls can choose to be team leaders or team members as they like :grphug: .

DD loves her CCA so much that she complains abt CCA stand down when CCA is stopped :sad: in preparation of PPA (pen and paper assessments). Her main grouse about CCA stand down is that she can't meet her infocomm buddies to talk about computers :stompfeet: .

There are also robotics club for those interested in both programming and automation (aka robotics). Entry for robotics club is also very intense. The girls will undergo tests to see if they can understand coding flows plus interview. In addition, those wanting to join robotics will be asked to construct some lego sets according to some sort of requirements. Since dd is not robotics club, parents with girls in robotics may be able to share more instead .

What Bishan campus? RGS does not have any campus at Bishan.

The GO is not at the lobby but on the right side if you are at the lobby. It is kind of difficult to give you the exact location of the GO so you might want to ask the security guard when you are there.

Sorry, if u referring to the RGS students in Y5-6, the GO is indeed in Bishan but its actually belongs to Raffles Institution.
RGS students will combine with RI once they in Y5-6.. GO fr Y5-6 is at the JC side nearer to Marymount Mrt..
