Usually not. E.g. for SAJC Math, they are now at Normal Distribution, left with Sampling and Hypothesis Testing to finish the syllabus.

For some JCs they may only finish the syllabus a few weeks before the Prelims.

Some JC finishes the syllabus by now and push the mid year exam to July to cover the complete syllabus

Nope, not yet. Still hv one last topic for ds' subjects. His CT in July covers partial topics only.

Thought last time we had seminar style tutorials too?


You mean JC teachers ready or not?

Students can be ready anytime! And they will benefit, esp those day dreamers, shy ones who only take in answers and don't contribute...

JC teachers hv to work harder as seminar style requires considerable facilitation n moderation by teacher...very tiring to walk around from table to table to interact with students, prompt, ask questions and give suggestions. Give debrief after each group's presentation of discussion...so teacher's brain cells will be drained if the discussion is robust.

Lecture delivery is easier as teachers only need to hide behind visualiser or lecturn to expand on slides. Pretty straight fwd delivery...

I dunno if u need to conduct corporate seminars or townhall lectures but I must sometimes lor, so I can tell u most siong is seminar/workshop. Always must take mc or go for foot massage after those 2-day seminars ;(

Agreed. It is piloted in CJC and AJC only?

My son will take A Level this year and serve NS next year. He plans to apply for Oxford or Cambridge next year when he is in 1st year of NS. In such, is he allowed to take leave from NS to attend the interview with Oxford or Cambridge in Nov/Dec?

Cambridge and Oxford do send their profs to Singapore to interview. That might be an option if your son can't take leave to go to England.
