just wondering can the girls take up 2 CCAs, ie 1 sport 1 dance? One at competitive level, one at leisure level? My girl is both a sportsperson cum dancer.

Both sports and dance CCA are very very demanding.
I don’t think there is a dance CCA for leisure. Just to let you have a feel, during performance time, training could go up to at least 4X a week and could be from 9am to 5pm during school holidays. Selection process is also very stringent as only about 15 to 18 girls were selected out of almost 100 applicants the past few years.

However, NY has dance built into their curriculum and they have a dance competition / performance among sec 2 this year, so they will still have time to practice, choreograph in an amateur, fun and leisure manner with their classmates. I saw some of the videos and was amazed by the girls’ talent and creativity. 😄

You may wish to check perhaps mind sports can be taken as leisure CCA?

Just how stringent is it to be able to join the CD or MD CCA? How’s the CCA schedule like in normal time and comps/perf time?

Yup, it is very competitive to get in the dance CCA, they need to go through 2 rounds of selection process, I heard some with RAD grades were not even selected since the intake is quite small at only 15 to 18 per batch.

You may refer to the link below for the CCA practice time. During competition / performance time, it could go up to 3 to 4X a week.

has anyone successfully DSA’ed into NYGH by non-academic domain? Does NYGH just look at pure talent or will exam results play a big part?

There are quite a number of non acad who had successfully gotten CO and I guess most of them were sports cca.perhaps up to 40 for each intakes. From what I see, they look at the talent more, but result must not be too bad either.

Dd just informed me that the timetable for second semester is out.

School is starting later as planned.

does anyone know what are the chances of getting a CO if you’re shortlisted for an interview at NYGH after completing DSA trial?

                        hi

Based on prior years DSA experience, when is the soonest we can be informed of the DSA results? Must we really wait till 31/8?
