2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
-
is this for kids born in 2013?
If yes, when should we start applying for PV? -
Yes, this is for kids born in 2013.
Typically, you apply for PV in the year your child turns 4,
ie, 2017 in your case.
However, if your school of choice requires PV to perform more
than the standard 40 hours stipulated by MOE (eg. NYPS requires
80 hours of PV service), then you might need to apply for PV as
early as this year. -
I’m pondering to do PV for PLMGS or not.
I am choosing between CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel or PLMGS.
I would be registering using my mum’s address which is the primary caregiver. So that is under Phase 2C between <1 to 2km> ? -

Hi all,
It’s abit scary given that my boy is only 3 years old now.
Home location: Punggol (within 1km from Mee toh primary school)
Daddy’s primary school: Red swastika (Bedok)
Mummy’s primary school: Xin min primary (Hougang)
Need student care services as grandparents r working. Grandparents stays in Hougang where there may be some after school help for me.
I would need to start doing pv next year if I’m interested in Mee toh. For now, I’m abit lazy n may settle for my school Xin min primary. Red swastika is good but far from my house. I’m
Any advice on which schools to choose? Tia. -

Hi. Nd some advice. If given a choice under 2A2, which would u choose to enrol your child in - yuneng pri or maha bodhi and why?
A friend was in similar circumstances as you years ago. He is under 2a2 for yu neng but not Maha Bodhi. And he stays at Bedok reservoir side which is opposite Maha Bodhi. In the end he chose Maha Bodhi as it is 'nearer' and enroll his children in student care near Maha Bodhi. He went for logistically easier option rather than academic result considerations. -
QQMOMMY:
Maha Bodhi is a SAP school, Yu neng is not.Hi. Nd some advice.
If given a choice under 2A2 , which would u choose to enrol your child in - yuneng pri or maha bodhi and why?
Since your child (born 2013) is 5th batch (1st batch : born 2009) to come under the new PSLE AL banding system, where EVERY of the 4 subjects COUNT, expected to do well (including Chinese), perhaps send your child to a SAP school ?
Which one, do u think is better ?
To get your child get grounded into Higher Chinese environment from Day 1 Primary 1 in a SAP school, or Hope that he get a chance to do Higher Chinese after come to end of P4 (streaming) results (entry into P5), in most of the Non-SAP schools, to do Higher Chinese exposure ?
Having said that, if you or your spouse happen to be alma mater from both schools since you mention Phase 2A2, it should be easy for you to find out from internal sources, from both schools :
for the 3 other subjects (eng, maths, science) : which school's teachers teach better at P5/P6, which school produce better results for past few years ?
Also, which school offer the Cca your child likes, or a Cca that can help him to DSA into Secondary school, later ?
find out the number of P6 students from both schools, who DSA into your dream school.
As you are from Phase 2A2 : can u join Phase 2A(1) alumni ?
once you're inside the alumni group, can ask those parents with Senior children around inside P5/P6 : how is the quality of the Teachers like, coming from both the Mixed Ability classes, plus also coming from the Top classes ?
from there, make a wise decision
However, in view of the new PSLE AL banding -
Children who study in SAP schools, given the opportunity to learn Higher Chinese from day 1 Primary 1 : gain a better, learning advantage & stronger foundation in Chinese, help them in psle Chinese better -

Checking in! Trying to get DS in Rosyth… anyone knows when the PV registration starts, please share.
looks like this year’s registration for 2017 intake is not so hot for Rosyth. All 2B applicants got in. but I’m not sure about the available places vs takeup rate. -

Hi, I am new to kiasu parents. I need some advice for my daughter who will be entering P1 in 2020. I stay in Toa Payoh. I am considering Pei Chun ( within 1-2km) and Maha Bodhi ( I am an alumni). Anyone has any idea what the chances of entering Pei Chun are if hubby and I join the PV scheme? What do they ask in the interview and what kind of activities does Pei Chun require parents to volunteer in? Between Pei Chun and Maha Bodhi, which is a better choice? Thank you!
