Lexy:
I registered my dau in CHIJ (Toa Payoh) under Phase 2B. I have been calling the school since yesterday and they can't give me the breakdown based on the number of applicants within 1km, 1-2km & more than 2km.. this is really stressful. How do I know what is my chances like?

        Hi shaanu

Relax, you only need the number for within 1km. For the past 10 years, no balloting for those within 1km.

TUR till 2A2 is 58%, although its higher than last year. the other time that TUR is higher than 58% is year 2006, 67%, and that year balloting for 1-2km.

But if you really want to have a peace of mind, try going down to the school if you haven't done so and see if you can check with someone on 1 data - how many applicant within 1km.

and to jmi, take note on the result for IJTP, it will give you a good gauge, don't put too much stress on yourself 🙂

Thanks Lexy. I needed to be within 2km of SJIJ and 1km of IJTP based on past years' history. Already gave up my Phase 2A chance.
Thank everyone. I am within 1km to CHIJ (Toa Payoh) and my husband juz went to the school to check on the nbr of applicants. There were 44 applicants yesterday & 1 applicant this morning.

4.30pm. Better go earlier rather than on the dot. Need time to fill up all the info on the forms. I heard it's quite thick.

Thanks - I was more interested in finding out when they will know the balance of vacancies. I'm an (overly) eager parent waiting for P2C.

However, the slots for P2C is roughly the same as P2B, so you should've known the number by now.

It's actually NAPS which is not as popular as the better known ones but I think is more than decent nonetheless 🙂

As of yesterday, MOE reported 53 vacancies for P2B and only 15 were taken. But, as we all know, this number could jump significantly today. Hence, my question on whether anyone wanted to hazard a guess on how things will turn out for P2C at NAPS.

If your friend applied online and didn't get the school- just check with her if she was called up for balloting. If she was not in the ballot, most likely she was not SC within 1 km of the school she applied for ( that is she did not qualify because the numbers applying was more than the places available.)
Internet application and going to the school does not make a difference otherwise. It is the eligibility for ballot. If the school you want to apply for is popular, check your distance to the school on omemap ( school query). Also you might want to check out P1 balloting history on kiasuparents for the particular school. This will give you an idea of your chances.
In the end if it comes to balloting, it depends on luck, not how you applied.

which distance range you fall into?
