Hi, i am currently staying at Novena area and i have another house (empty) at Bukit Merah area. The Novena house is < 1km from ACSJ/ACSP/SJIJ while my another house in Bukit Merah is < 1km from Alexandra Primary.

My preference is not to move and to enrol my kid at ACSJ, ACSP or SJIJ, provided that we dont need to go for balloting. However, if balloting is required, i am toying with the idea to try for Alexandra (more vacancies) by moving to my Bukit Merah house on the last day of the Phase2C registration i.e. 29 Jul (Fri). However, before the move, on 27 Jul (Wed), i would have apply for ACSJ/ACSP/SJIJ using my current Novena address?

Does anyone knows if there are any restrictions to do that? Not sure if it is wise to do that. Troubled. Thanks.
I'm sure MOE will notice if you apply with 2 different addresses in the same phase. But then both are your homes, so it is not illegal to move to one or other of your homes. You can always say you use both homes. My suggestion is to wait till day 3 of phase 2C before you apply.
If you need to, you can change your address before you apply to AP. If your chances are good in your current location, then keep your current address. Then there won't be 2 records with different addresses to raise MOE's suspicion.

I think u may be too late to change the address on your NRIC. When u go down to the police station to do it, they will paste a sticker bearing the new address at the back of your NRIC. And the sticker indicates the date of the change. And the electronic database shared by all government agencies will be updated. So MOE will definitely know the date of change.

              http://www.ifaq.gov.sg/MOE/apps/fcd_faq ... FAQ_129760

There are many places in this FAQ that make reference to the date 30 June 2016 as being the start date of the P1 registration. I read that as the final date to change your address. Not sure whether got other interpretation.

well, both properties are his/hers, so technically I don’t think MOE can fault that parent. Just remember that whatever property is used for registration, family should stay there for the next 30 months or more. However, convenience will be key. Even if one has car, distance is still very important for the next 6 years.

Does it mean you would need to go to the police station to change the address on your NRIC?
I also understand the MOE System was able to know that you had registered at ACPS, ACJS and SJI Jr using your Novena address and when you register at Alexandra Pri you used a different address. I may be wrong but I came across someone posted this before.

Yes, would have to go and change the address at the police station on the 3rd day. Big time hassle but better than to live with the fear over the weekend that my son might not get into ACSJ/ACSP/SJIJ. hope no issues with MOE over the two different addresses... but again, also afraid that alexandra primary will have balloting for SC < 1km based on Chief's spreadsheet. Sigh...

I'm not sure how you are going to do it. Most parents will be putting their bets on the last day, i.e. 2.30pm - 4.30pm so i'm not sure if you have much reaction time. Running around ASPS, ACJS and SJI Jr (that's 3 schools!) then withdraw, going to police station to change address (time taken), then to Alexandra Primary for registration.

Best is to stay put and grind it out if there is balloting. SJI Jr will give you the best chance if there is a ballot at <1km.

Similar situation but, unlike you, I don't have another place as an option so it's one of those 3 for me in Phase 2C!

                        Hi parents,

can anyone help me with these questions:-

1)for phase 2C, after result announce on Wednesday (3 Aug), the school will then inform me if i need to go for ballot right? The ballot will be done on which date?

                        2) Phase 2C supplementary ( 11 Aug-12 Aug) - This date is for people who can’t get into the school after even balloting right?

                        Thanks a million…
