Thanks for update. All the 142 students are on physics remedial lesson. A lot of students failed due to they did not finish their paper during the exam. That is disadvantage for ip students. Any other good Tution for physics ? Please advise. Thanks in advance. -

I think that a major reason for the low marks is teachers being strict in their marking in order to show the students how much they have to improve! I would just consider the remedials to be free tuition and feel that it makes the school fees \"value for money\".jtoh:

If JAE students are particularly exam-skilled (especially since the ones in RI must have topped the O levels), then the top students should include a larger proportion of JAE students relation to their numbers. I don't know, but I doubt that is the case. -

If the JAE students are indeed more exam-skilled, then none should have failed any of the exams. I don't know if this is the case. But as the teachers will tell you, one of the reasons for students not doing well in this first J1 exam is some of them are still busy with their CCAs, representing the school in competitions, or are busy in other activities. Some are still in a playful mood and haven't hunkered down to studying yet. But come the promo exams, you will see an improvement in grades as the students get down to studying. -

Although my daughter (mostly) likes all the stuff she is doing, even she is telling me that she is looking forward to the CCA stand-down period when everyone is supposed to hunker down and just study - she thinks it will be restful compared to her busy schedule at the moment! I have, of course, told her that she can always choose to cut back on her activities in and outside school, but she's enjoying herself too much. As long as she's not getting too cranky or falling sick, I'll leave her to decide how much to do. -

CCA for JC1 is ongoing till near to year end promo exams. -

There will be a stand down period just before the exams even for JC1 students, though I don't know how long before. Probably just 2 weeks before the exams, I think. JC2 students are probably stood down already till the end of the year. Yes, my daughter is doing some forward planning!
