2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take
-
Hi, can anyone advise what is the chances for sc within 1-2km in Kou chuan Presbyterian primary. Am contemplating between kou chuan 1-2 km or teck ghee < 1km. Thank u.

Maryg, Kuo Chuan historically ballots at 1-2km. Last two years, no chance for ballot at 1-2km as <1km fills up the seats exactly. See history here:

However, the take up rate for tiger babies from earlier phases is lower this year. Guess you have the monitor the stats for these two schools and decide on the last day? Teck ghee <1 km should be quite safe. -
Hi mom2ij, thanks for the advise. What would be a good chance to take a risk for the last day, eg. How many ppl registered vs available vacancy ?

Have you read this: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/event ... n-phase-2c
The stats are only indicative. It's anyone's guess what the take-up rate this year would be, esp with 2010 being a Tiger year etc. -

I would suggest u to forget abt trying Alexandra, cos mostly it would have balloting for SC <1km too, imagine going for all the trouble running ard 4sch, withdraw, go police station change address on IC, then end up ballot too.. I don see the point..
Yes, would have to go and change the address at the police station on the 3rd day. Big time hassle but better than to live with the fear over the weekend that my son might not get into ACSJ/ACSP/SJIJ. hope no issues with MOE over the two different addresses... but again, also afraid that alexandra primary will have balloting for SC < 1km based on Chief's spreadsheet. Sigh... -

You should check with the school for the breakdown of sc applicants less than 1km and those 1-2km, not just no. of applicants vs available vacancies. With this info, you should be able to know whether there will be balloting at which distance category and make your decision accordingly. -
Thanks mom2ij. Will monitor it next week.

SPR acceptance comes after SC. 86 for Pei Chun isn't safe enough for you I'm afraid. I suspect it would be filled up < 2km but if not, I'm sure SC > 2km would happily absorb those places.Yes, register as SPR
Home at Lorong 8 Toa Payoh <1KM Pei Chun
Vacancy left 2C 86, look good
My plan Day 1 go for Pei Chun,
on Day 3 noon, if after SC register still with balance vacancy, God bless
Else switch to Kheng Cheng or Marymount
Hence, I don't see the point of going through the exercise knowing that a switch is imminent. I would also avoid Kheng Cheng if I'm a SPR as well. SC > 2km would absorb those places if available. -
Hi
Anyone trying for SCGS this yr? The no. looks promising. However, I wonder if it is worth to go for it if balloting occurs within 1 km? I am lookin at RGPS too. -

im also nervous! I really really thought that it's easy to register for the primary one school but it can be a stress one too! especially for those in phase 2c like me..haizz... do u think I can get westwood primary school? its within 1km from my hse...anybody applying the school?
Westwood has a balloting history for those within 1km. It's about 6 applicants to 5 slots.
You may like to take a look at the balloting history in the link below for The area:
