Not to mention the reason why we work bcos we are kiasu mummies who need to send our kids for extra lessons. Sourcing for properties near good schools and indulge in their favourite japanese food.

Sometimes i do take a step back and wonder if my kids wld have prefer me to stay at home and spend more time with them and give up all their little luxuries. Wld they be better off if iโ€™m the one who guide and teach them at home than to send them to all these classes.
But i come to realise that is not at all possible bcos i have no patience and i will most probably scream my whole block down everyday.
      Sighโ€ฆ okieโ€ฆ back to work.

I am also a FTWM and happen to chance upon this thread ๐Ÿ™‚ No need to elaborate skiving in between and start posting here and there ๐Ÿ˜›

Well for me being financially independent is important and thus i m working and also able to enjoy life little luxuries eg: holidays, branded bags, DS classes ๐Ÿ™‚ These days the economic situation is too vulnerable and restructure is so common and it is important to have dual income too. Just that we got no rest on weekends as got to clear housework, chauffeuring DS to classes, revise school work.

            lovekidsverymuch:
Yes panicked to the core wanted to show doctors but then MIL stopeed said wait boy slow mah then someone said ppl who start talking late become intelligent  so we stopped worrying then later he learnt though one thing bout him was watever he spoke was correct pronounciation he never spoke in baby language...

Hello all, I am a FTWM! My son is now 2 yrs 7 months old and like pixiepixel started worrying couple of months ago when he was still just speaking a handfull of one word/syllabus! More than that, his childcare teacher told us that after attending 6 months there, he was still unable to sit still and pay attention. He also does not look at the teachers when being spoken to! MASSIVE PANIC!!!

The thing is my son was not like that at home. He was usually very cheerful, look at us, kiss us and pay tremendous attention to the TV! ๐Ÿ˜›
I suspect he was terribily bored in the ccc and does not like his new teacher.

So I switched him to a private early intervention centre just to test him out in a new environment for 2 weeks. Guess what? He liked his teachers, was so much happier and he started to count from One to Five verbally and using his fingers! Teachers here said he has great eye contact, very good attention one-on-one and active and cheerful boy! :?
So we are now much happier and relief but closely monitoring him. Hope to God that he will development nicely through this difficult 3 yrs old period!

            ๐Ÿ™

                  hi

                  me a newbie & a FTWM, DD at K2 & DS at terrible 2.

doing 5 day work. i wish i could spend more precious time with them.
Reason me working is, since mil is staying with us, she helps to look after the kids. I cant think of having myself n mil at home everyday (you know wat i meant). But with the coming of DS, can see mil is more tired now after a day with the kids especially DS. Hubby is working on shift so mil dont really need to look after the kids a full 5 days.

2ndly like most of us, for our own expenses & financially independant. So tht I could buy extra stuffs & get on holidays.

By the way, how do u all cope with both work & household chores?? I feel exhausted easily now tht DS is growing naughtier.

Me, another FTWM reporting here! My son is 12 weeks+ old. Now actively looking around for a suitable childcare centre for him. I cannot say i want to be a SAHM because i do enjoy going to work as i have pretty ok colleagues. But i also miss my son alot and wonder if i could have done more for him if i can afford to stay at home. My MIL resigned the moment i delivered so now, she is the main caregiver. Very worried that my son will not be close to meโ€ฆ
