I heard that westwood 1 km SC still need to ballot. Because someone insist to register after 4:30pm. And turns out to have 153 1km registered to ballot for 152 vacancies. Not sure how true it is.

But I thought the registration close at 4:30. How come can still let ppl register? Just hope it is not true.

It's hard for the entire 153 applicants to be within 1km. If you are within 1km, should be fine. Wait for the official results. I pity the school admin if they need to read 152 names out of 153 applicants.

Heard the 153 all 1 km SC. SC over 1 km all withdraw.
Although the balloting chance is very high, it is unfair to the ones who registered before 4:30 if it is true that to last one came in after 4:30. Wait until next Monday to find out.
Not true. 151 SC within 1km reg for Westwood and all got in. 2 others are SC 1-2km. Total who reg for WW is 153 as reflected in the MOE website. So balloting will be for the 2 who are 1-2km. Balloting for 1 place. There were a few who are 1-2km who withdrew at the last min to go other sch to reg.

WW did not let anyone reg after 4.30pm. At about 5plus I received call from WW to confirm my son got in.

I was there and saw the whole thing. :rahrah:

      Congrats Lexy too!!! :congrats:
That's a good news. Big relief for me too. Thanks for the update.
Congrats Daberah! Din know you apply for WW within 1km too. The admin person din call you to confirm?

Congrats to Isya! Lexy, is for Isya hehe :rahrah:
Thanks! Got the call from school. 2 SC at 1-2km ballot for one place. All 1 km in. Congrats everyone.

          MGS

SC within 1 km- 29 all get in
SC within 1-2 km- 13- all get in
SC outside 2km - 34 need to ballot for 2 seats

This is the result as of 5pm on 29 July.

I’m curious - do all schools call parents to let them know that their child has secured a spot in 2C?

I don’t think they have time to do this.

Till the last minutes, some schools may still have parents withdrawing and registering.

Yup, that's what I thought too. But I'm wondering whether they do so this week prior to Wed (3 Aug)? I guess some schools practise this but others may just have parents wait till announcement date.

So if no call or anything, the safest is to check MOE's website regarding which schools need balloting? Paiseh, but I dunno their standard practice...

Hi, yes, the schools which are balloting, and the distance which requires balloting, will be out later today. If you do not have to ballot, you are in.

I guess the approach should be this:

                      - Not all schools call parents. Don't get overly worried if you don't get a call if you're comfortable with your chances.
                      - Just hang in there until either MOE updates its balloting website so you'll know if you need to ballot or when the results are announced on 3 August.

In the meantime, keep yourself busy 🙂 (Go to work, go to the gym, go for a run, play World of Warcraft etc.)

It depends on the school I guess. For SAJS, they specifically said that if the child needs to ballot for a spot, they will call. If you don't receive a call, you're in. No news is good news. As with most people, I prefer my result to be communicated positively, regardless of the outcome, though I understand the rationale.
