It depends on the school I guess. For SAJS, they specifically said that if the child needs to ballot for a spot, they will call. If you don't receive a call, you're in. No news is good news. As with most people, I prefer my result to be communicated positively, regardless of the outcome, though I understand the rationale.
However some schools may have considered it is better to have the definitive list of students after balloting first, before making contact with the parents through some means.[/quote]I agree. I think schools are reluctant to make phone calls unless and until everything is 100% locked in & confirmed. I'm sure there'll be a storm if they call a parent and then later have to convey that it was a mistake. Knowing how crazy parents are (yes, that means you and me and all of us), it may be better to let MOE make the official announcements
