Only those on WL has a chance to have CO provided they put NUSH as first choice above any other CO.

There is no appeal for rejection.

Those die-hard NUSH rejected may try DSA at Y3 .

but, if they come in DSA at Y3 :
won't they have a lot to catch up or might even fall behind, since Sec 1 (NUS High) already tackling 3 pure Science subjects & by end of Sec 2, NUSH Accelerated program have covered the subjects equivalent to \"O\" level standard, whereas in other Secondary schools, Sec 1 / Sec 2 are doing General Science ?

in terms of curriculum, between NUS High vs. other Secondary schools, up to end of Sec 2, already a quite a big difference a lot to catch up, isn't it ?

Of course they will only take in those who will not end up being a liability lah.

Those who join in year 3 have to take bridging courses in sem 1 to close the gap. Btw, quite a number are ASEAN scholars.

Manga32, there is supplementary intake information for NUSH in their website, do check it out.

I also heard success story of a boy who managed to get in post psle by presenting his coding skills.

My DS also received CO... He is looking forward to the tea session 😄
Will representing school in code express competition organised by IDA help in profile?

That is strange. Probably some error in sending the email. Has she checked the junk folder? Has your friend called the GO? If not please ask her to do so Monday morning.

Hi all, I’m new to this forum… I’m a very laid back mum… I’m sure many of your kids here are trying to enrol your kids to NUSH… can share any particular reasons?

My son was offered a place in NUSH during the 1st wk of Jan this yr… but he’s undecided to accept the sch… cos its pretty far from our home…

I know NUSH curriculum is diff from the mainstream sec sch… is it true that the kids can get exempted from 1st yr of uni since its a direct 6 yrs diploma? what other benefits are there in NUSH compared to normal sec sch?

                    TIA mummies…

I doubt it. They will probably want to test the applicant's coding skills on the spot, instead of basing it on past competitions.
BTW, having some coding skill before entering NUSH is a strong advantage to have, because computer science is now compulsory subject at NUSH. And this subject is the most time consuming. 😓

These scholars raise the standard further in the already competitive environment from year 3 onwards. Even the teacher asked the year 2's to brace themselves for increased competition from year 3. 😄
