Kid has been misbehaving like those in the series \"Super Nanny\" screened on OkTO Channel. Getting violent these days. scratch and hit mummy 😞

I tried the \"Time Out\" method, cannot work lah... 😢

Can anyone advise me where to find Super Nanny in Singapore. Called up Child Guidance Clinic run by MCYS, they said no such things in Singapore.

Any experts here in Child Discipline? :?

Can you recap on how old your son is?

how is your relationship with your child all along? does his rebellion start only recently? what is your disciplinary method and communication channel all along?

at 11yo, it will be difficult to instill change in disciplinary methods overnight.

sometimes, a ‘SuperNanny’ can be just at your backyard - is there anyone in the family (relatives) that your kid look up to? maybe you can start from there.

No one. 😢 Wife and kid never like to visit anyone, including the grand parents, aunties/uncles.

No much communications with neighbours... 😞

                No senior citizen around. 🙏

No cane available in this house. Why \"time out\" instruction given in Super Nanny cannot work? 😞 The angmos in the documentary are much wilder / violent than my kid. Super Nanny can tame them. :celebrate:

Singapore is very lacking in this area. The medical social workers at CGC are helpless. 😢

Rebellion very long liow... since P2. My kid never respect anyone except the grandparents. But wife cut off ties....... 😢

can tv shows like Supernanny be trusted? not 100 percent la! surely they will not show the failed case studies. i find that reading parenting books are more informative than Supernanny.

medical social workers in SG deals with special needs kid, not naughty kids. even if your kid needs special attention (as certified by medical profession), the workers can mainly only give guidance on what to do; the outcome will still be largely dependent on the parents’ involvement and attitude.

I find angmo counsellor more confident than locals.

They are more professional in these areas. I think :?

Sometimes it is just a perception.

Think angmos, esp. Americans, are generally very encouraging.

Old man like me was searching for courses to upgrade. Some local staff told me, you may difficulties coping, or this course is targeting those under 35. 😢

American lady in another course told me: 40 is just the beginning of life! :celebrate: Made my day! Angmos are generally positive!
