All About Church/Clan/Society Membership

I heard that 40-50 hours was what they would typically be looking at.
However, I suspect that they have a quota each year and they then allocate the top no. of hours accordingly. So, if you happen to fall into a year where there are less PVs (or less active PVs) then a lower no. of hours may work. But, if you are in a year where there are many hardcore PVs then you're going to have to power-work your way towards endorsement.
In short, I don't think that there's a specific no. of hours which SHHK uses but rather they adopt a more Bell-curve-like approach.
That said, I've heard of PVs who receive endorsements and then, due to the crazed nature of TNS, do not get balloted in. So, it's rarely ever a certainty for those who go all out and volunteer. This is not to say that you shouldn't volunteer. I had a great time doing traffic control at the gate - it was a rewarding experience. While I didn't get an endorsement, I believe that I had helped in a small way

Agree with Technospaz about specific number of hours. It all boils down to how many hours you have done in comparison to others who are vying for the same school.
I have had no regrets in not going ahead to use the Phase 2B for SHHK school. BUTβ¦I had good experiences helping out SHHK during their festivities and it was certainly an eye opener for me (back then the volunteer work was more at Thian Hock Keng and not in schools). -
From what I have gathered, it all boils down to how many seats are available after phase 2A2. If there are more left , more endorsements would be given out and the number of hours needed to serve to receive an endorsement would be comparatively lower. Hence, there is no way anyone can predict for sure the minimum tenure or number of hours needed.

Hi
Would like to find out is there a list of which church, clan or society the schools are affiliated to? I found a list of which school have affiliation but it didn't say which particular church or clan. Would be glad if anyone can share...
Thanks -
Hokkien Huay Kuan -> Tao Nan, Ai Tong, Kong Hwa, Chong Fu, Nan Chiau
Church affiliation is by denomination, so probably easier
to list by denomination instead of specific churches.
Methodist - ACS, Fairfield Methodist, Geylang Methodist, PLMGS, MGS
Catholic - Catholic High (duh ), CHIJs, Maris Stella, Monfort
That's about all I know. Maybe others can add on? -
Thanks!
Will be good if others can help add on⦠-
