you can take train from Ikebukuro to Disneyland

        http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdr/english/plan/access/accs_ikebukuro.html

        and within Sunshine City itself

        * Sunshine 60 Observatory - You can enjoy the scenery spreading out 360° around you from the topmost floor.

        * International Aquarium - At this aquarium you can not only meet sea creatures, but animals that live on the land and the air as well.

        * Sunshine City KONICA MINOLTA Planetarium Manten

        * Sunshine City Namco Namjatown - This is an indoors theme park made up of many different attractions and food theme parks.

        * Sunshine City Ancient Oriental Museum - Here you can see the magnificent history of human culture.

The place around Sunshine city is nice…but I find the walk to their train station is a bit long as it takes about 15mins…If not wrong, Shinagawa Prince Hotel is nearer to the train station. You may like to check it out.

June, Japan’s rail system although confusing at first, is very convenient.

From Shin-Urayasu you can get to Shinjuku, no problem. We stayed at Shinjuku New City hotel (i would not recommend this though).

From Shinjuku station we took the rail with our (already) 7 days of luggage/shopping to Shin Urayasu station and crossed the pedestrian bridge over to Oriental - and this was at peak hour!

there’s a link somewhere in this very long thread - to the rail/metro trip planner… all you have to do is key-in your start and end-point… the route will be given, together with the cost… let me dig my bookmarks… should be around somewhere…

babyjc: u stayed in Shinagawa Prince Hotel before? How far is the walk to the train station, don't think my 7yr old DS will walk after a day of walking 😛 if we stay 3 lanes away from the station.

once again thanks all for the tips..

Shinagawa Prince and Prince Shinagawa are 2 different hotels.

The one that is nearer Shinagawa station is Prince Shinagawa...

7 yr old... hmm... my girl was 6... every little bit helps... there'll be heaps of walking 😛

mckenzy: thanks for the great tips again…Spoke to DH and he agreed that we shld stayed near to Disneyland if we are planning 2-3 days there…and cost is definately lower than those hotels around Shinjuku area (and strange is that hotels around Shinjuku area they do charge kids above 7 years old). Near to Disneyland hotels for consideration: The Oriental or Palm Terrace.

And now the million dollar question: Do you think 1 day is sufficient in Disneyland?

No if you intend to cover both Disneyland and DisneySea. You need 1 day for each.
