I like the school but hesitate to put my girl in due to religion as we are Buddhist family. Wondering if anyone like me?

          Hi all,

Yes, I am wondering too. Does the school have religion class in the curriculum?

          Thank you.

my family is a buddhist .. but my mom wont hestiate to send me and my sibling to missionary school lolz .. and after spending so many years in such school .. i still remain a buddhism believer

i aso registered my boy in this school ... he also attended catholic preschool ..

religious lesson is just another way to let the kid understand the religious .. it may not necessary make them convert .. so relax

I am from Buddhism family and my dad was strongly objected my mum to register me at HIPS.

But, I was glad that my mum still went ahead to register me at HIPS, otherwise, I would not be able to register my elder under phase 2A2 and my younger girl (going P1 in 2017) under phase 1.

I enjoyed studying in HIPS and so do my elder girl. Due to the shifting of school to AMK site, I did struggle whether to transfer her out to other school which nearer to my house (I am staying in Sengkang). But after searching, I really cannot find a school which I like as compared to HIPS.

HIPS focus on disciplinary and moral education & explore them to chinese culture (which I like most). Also, let them have the chance to learn Wushu, chinese calligraphy etc. My elder joined Wushu as CCA in P2 and she always very excited and will talk non-stop on her wushu. FYI, she is a very quiet girl and seldom talk much.

As for academic, I can say that their standard quite high and my elder did struggle abit. So what we can do is to send her for enrichment classes and spend more times with her on her school work.

The teachers there are strict but caring.

Overall, my elder girl always looking forward to go school daily and I hope my younger girl will enjoy it next year too.

Not sure how it actually works but we registered in Phase 2B under Catholics and they got us to sign up for catechism class (understand to be on Fridays before shcool starts).

Heard from some currently students there itโ€™s an option to sign up for this class for non Catholics.

                      Hope that helps

Yes, on every Friday for P1 & P2 afternoon session, they have this program called ' GIFT' (actually is teaching about bible). The timing is 12 noon.

That one is optional but my girl will attend without failed since her P1.

P.S. I did remember last year her P1, we did sign a letter mentioning to attend those catholics program etc.
