One of the proudest and most touching moment in life....
I do agree with you. :congrats: to him for making Singapore proud.

To be frank,i really wanted to go airport:)

                Hubby say i am crazy…lol
But i need to help prep girl to go school,
So have to face reality & just watch from tv:)

Love the short interview they had with his mum(on plane),
On what advice she had for fellow parents:)
                (She said something like:
Love your child…give them all the support,
                But Don’t force the child!!!..)
& she thanked all those who had helped Joseph all these years!
                Great mummy!! Our role model!!
& his dad is wonderful too!!
                Extraordinary child+extraordinary parents= extraordinary achievement

Being a sports parent, I have seen how exorbitant the cost is to raise a sports child.

For Jo’s achievements, I wonder how much of it is sponsored by G and how much of it is due to parent’s deep pockets?

Is the parents rich ? I remembered I saw the media reported they stay in Marine Parade flat. So HDB or condo or landed? If from young, he needs to swim at 4+am I would think that they stay in condo ? Else cannot be Swimming complex right ?

                        From what i read,

                        Only $90k(per year?not stated…),with a sports excellence scholarship:(

Some commented that he is lucky that his parents
Can afford it…but they are draining on their whole life savings,
& need to do a lot of budgetting…
& they are not young!!(his mum gave birth to him at 40yr old,his dad 47,if not wrong)

And i feel it’s NOT ONLY about the $ they need to spend…
There is a lot of other sacrifices, time, effort they need to make as parents.
& there are many super-rich parents around, but how many are willing to spend
So much $$(with no guaranteed returns?!),time and effort etc?!?
(No offence, but many prefers to enjoy life,go high tea and shopping, etc!!)
If it’s only about $,there would be many more who can get medals!!?:)

I have great admiration & respect for his parents!!!
