We are all guilty of this sometimes especially when our DCs try to test our \"limited\" patience, I've had my fair share of shouting matches with my DS as well over his attitude, carelessness, etc...but I have learnt that as we near PSLE, it is more important to keep their mental health in tip-top condition, so that they go into the exam with a clear, confident mind.SpartanMum:
Was stressed out from work yesterday, and DS was acting up a bit , arguing and justifying as we practised MT orals. Lost my temper and made a caustic remark
Sounds easy? No, it is not, I've to internalize a lot of my own stress and expectation and not just to dump it on DS.....
It's a find line that we thread on...must make DC revise, but dun stress them to the point of break down.
Er, XYZ1 ....I think you attributed the quote to the wrong person. that wasn't from me... -
SpartanMum,
I told daughter yesterday we will work on 3 oral passages everyday until Thursday...she acted up and I got really mad. I can go easy revising for prelim, but the Oral this week is for PSLE :stompfeet: -
The kids are under a lot of stress and Oral is not much fun actually…even for us!!!
Be extra kind to yourself and PSLE DC this week:) -
Agree and don’t pressure them too much.

SpartanMum:
as parents, we are worried for the kids' oral...after all this is the REAL PSLE oral. preparing for Oral is no fun because it's scary not knowing what kind of questions will be tested and no matter how much we prepare them, the kids' pressure and that fear of facing a total stranger on the actual day will be overwhelming. The kids are under a lot of stress and Oral is not much fun actually...even for us!!!
Be extra kind to yourself and PSLE DC this week:)
since Saturday, I have been monitoring her diet and making her drink more water due to the hot weather. -
Agree totally with Janet. The pressure is great. There’s prelims, actual PSLE oral and tons of homework to handle by these 11/12 years old kid. Not easy.
I make honey lemon drink for her to bring to school everyday to boost up the VitC. Good luck to all! -

to make things worse, the teachers are piling on pressure on the kids.Agree totally with Janet. The pressure is great. There's prelims, actual PSLE oral and tons of homework to handle by these 11/12 years old kid. Not easy.

daughter told me that :slapshead: now I have to be her cheerleader to reduce the pressure...will remind her to take 1 teaspoon of manuka every night. -
Woke up with sweaty palms... PSLE is THIS week :nailbite:
