This year 2016,
ACSP = 24 SC within 1km at 2C balloting for 20 places

Hi,
My husband is not an alumni for acsp nor acsj.
What are the criteria to try to get into either school then besides being within 1km to both schools?
Great thanks -

Is he a Methodist church member, or a staff of either school?Hi,

Heβs attending baptism class now coz he was away from Singapore for past 20 years. In order to renew his church membership he was told by the church to attend baptism classes again.

You may wish to confirm with the schools that such church membership will meet the 2B registration requirements. Mindful however that ACSP has to ballot even for 2B, so proximity comes into play. -

Even for Phase 2B, the one with better odds will be ACS (Junior) if you live within 2km from the school. ACS (Primary) conducts balloting from time to time even if you live <1km from the school, so if you get balloted out, you'll have to prepare an alternative school for Phase 2C.happygal78:

1) Hubby is an old boy from ACSJ we can register under P2A2
2) We are staying in the north and our new bto will be ready next year. There is a neighbourhood school <1km and if we register there, it will be under P2C
Question : How do we know we are still up to join the alumni to secure P2A1? What are the chances of our boy securing a place in ACSJ as we are staying so far?

Thus far, registering under Phase 2A(2) for ACS (Junior) is quite safe even if you live far away. This year is the first time that ACS (Primary) conduct balloting in Phase 2A(2) as many fathers have joined the ACS OBA and move up 1 phase for P1 Registration exercise.Hi all, newbie here!

Hence, it is not necessary for you to join ACS OBA if you plan to register your boy in ACS (Junior) next year. In any case, think you are too late to join to qualify for 2017 P1 Registration under Phase 2A(1). The deadline is usually by 30 Jun of the year before you register. -

I knew someone who lives in Jurong but still want to send their son to ACSJ, so if you can work out the logistics, I would say go for it. Do take account of CCA and other activities that require your son to stay back in school.
