Around Nov/Dec the year before. Typically the SHHK will put the notification on their website that application for the recommendation letter has commenced. For us, we went by the previous year which was up in end Nov. Thus we checked the website regularly from Nov onwards. Can't remember when was the closing date but should be quite a while.

The application form has the basic fields like name of child/parent who is the SHHK member; which SHHK school do you intend to enrol your child in etc. In addition, the other two fields which some parents spoke about are (1) Participation in SHHK activities (2) if you have any recommendations from SHHK Board/Committee member. If so, you are to put down their names.

i suggest that you call them to check on the submission deadline as there is a committee to approve all recommendation. if their meeting has been held, then no point submitting already.

Anyone of you know what are we supposed to do with those little chinese cards that we bought as part of the booklist? Any idea if the Chinese teachers will be going through them or are we supposed to go through with the kids? Reason being that almost half a year has passed and they have not been informed to take the cards to school and there are 2 boxes of them (1A and 1B).

I have totally no idea too.

There were also few other items from the booklist which are not being used at all till todate (eg. dictionary, jotterbook, exercise book). But I guess since he is going to be in the school till P6, so can keep them for later use.

Understood from my boy that the cards are for some sort of Chinese games. Not confirmed though ......
