I was very shocked the kids mentioned they have to get scores of 250. what kind of ad is this? what message is it sending? :slapshead:

I think the ad asks if we are putting too much pressure on our kids and the message is Never Give Up even if dun do well at PSLE...so I find quite touching...esp seeing all the mummies hug their DC.

When I saw the Milo ad, I just shook my head at the unrealistic portrayal that all the kids should be expected to get a psle score of 250, 260 etc. some of the kids shown look as young as primary 1 or 2...

I didn't see the ad but curious to know why is Milo doing this ad? Izzit drink Milo can score high marks for PSLE?

        Hahahahahahahahaha

If drink Milo can help kids score high T-score in PSLE, then next in line advertisement to appear on same topic, can be drink Holick, or drink Overtine, or drink 3-in-1 kopi, or drink Chicken Essence

Anyway, is unrealistic to expect 260 on average.

If look at primary schools' average T-score : it usually hover around 22x to 23x mid range.

Even to get above 250 : not easy.

        To go Above 240 :
On average, per 4 subjects :
you need high Band 2 grade

        To go above 250 -
On average, per 4 subject :
You need at least Band 1

        To go above 260 -
On average, per 4 subject :
Need to score at least A* (91 & above )

I do like the part that the kids know their mom will be there for them, regardless of their results.

I watched the ad again. The youngest is probably around p4. My mistake.

Thanks for the link. I just watched. It's so touching n I teared. I like the part where the parents hugged their kids at the end. It goes to show how important parent-child bonding is n parental love and support for their kids is so important to shape their behaviors and attitudes towards coping with life challenges.

I do wish one of the kids could have said that no matter what score he/she gets, the mum will love him/her no matter what.

I think this line \"Her prelims results were most in 'B's only. I was in panic,\" sums it all up really. How is it that we have reached a point where \"B\"s are regarded as a disappointment! I think we all need to take a step back and look at what they have achieved......think back to how sweet but clueless they were in P1 šŸ˜‰

I would be very happy if my girl got B. I can't even smell it!! My girl failed chinese and maths (40 plus range) and pass english and science. Never change throughout the years... haiz...

Very sensible words, phtthp. I believe most parents will be satisfied as long as they feel their children have put in best efforts.

The tricky part is what is \"best\" efforts....

                    I understand how you feel.
I don't want to think of the psle results...we have been working hard especially these past 2 years.
stopped her science tuition this year because she was demoralized by the tutor's attitude towards her...it took me and hubby a lot of guts to do so because this is a crucial year. it's just down to 2 weeks...I want to get it over and done with...having several bouts of tension headache and shoulder aches.
