        phtthp:

But which part is out of point ?

Secrets supposed to be a mystery

Even in drama watched, even if Top management in a company is corrupted, lower salary paid personnel may not even dare to disclose truth that the fella at the top is corrupted, in case lose his rice bowl, or harm brought to his family members, if he disclose the truth.

So, don't see why you say is out of point, just because author did not disclose the truth
Haha... you watch too much shows. Even in shows, at the end of the day, the secret and the culprits is still revealed right?
Anyway, I did not say it is out point, it is just slightly off topic. But as I said, as long as the flow is there and the feelings properly written, the compo will still be a good one.

Thanks for sharing your views. I personally think DS is missing a big WHY in the compo and as a reader, I would want to know what is the secret.

He said he ended the story saying''some secrets are meant to be told, some secrets are not, and I am not telling you mine.''Just hope the marker will not deduct too many marks.

Well, can't reverse and have to move on! 🙏
To penalise this omission or not will depend on the rubrics set by examiner. But I must commend your DS for a nice ending which could possibly save the show. Dun worry so much.

              Almighty:
Aiyo... all characters in my DS Compo were boys....secrets revealed also by boys when the picture given was 2 girls..:stupid: don't know how much will b deducted for this.. any idea from anyone :?

Almighty, pic 1 is on the 2 girls whispering away. Pic 2 is an envelope with the word secret stamped on it. So is ok to have the characters all boys... means using Pic 2 instead of Pic 1. No worries.

celebrate the efforts , parents must acknowledge your dc have done n tried their Best.

Frankly, since last yr ( my dc psle) , i already noticed the papers getting rather tricky ( no as simple if u ponder harder)
the past 2 to 3yrs papers were more manageable .... but if one feel difficult, there are a lot of others feel the same too , dun be discouraged ! Difficult papers are to identify the \"cream\" it may not be disadvantage to all when seab do the analysis n adjustment. Too easy qns, T scorings will get narrow ...

Best Luck to all ! :rahrah:

Happyheart, don't think too much. I think the way your DS end off the compo could jolly saved the situation in explaining why he did not reveal the secret. Anyway, what done is done... if he has a good command of language, the impact is minimised.

One of my DS's friend (not same school)'s teacher actually told them those who write secret (i.e. picture 2) must have the secret originating from an document/envelope/information (as per the picture), else will be off topic also. Oops... if the marking scheme is really so strict, my DS, and I believe, many others will all be off topic already.

I tot the girls in picture 1 are to represent students so it doesn’t really matter if it is written as girls or boys in the compo?

                      That's what I was thinking too...so
Picture 1: must whisper secret between 2 people (preferably girls according to the picture)
Picture 2: secret must be inside a letter or envelope
Picture 3: must be something in a secret location locked up... very mysterious

Take heart that your 12yo has the maturity to write a \"corporate whistle blower\" kind of plot. Just pray that he had developed his plot well such that the secret could be inferred from the earlier cues, e.g. why the colleague was dismissed (cause of dismissal = info in letter).

                        Time to move on!
