Powder? Do they have lozenges? I used the lozenges for sore throat when we lived in China. There are different brands though, and some were nicer than others! I never saw the powder, but I guess I wasn't looking for anything for ulcers.

not too sure about lozenges...might have seen it at watsons but not very sure.
it's very effective...kids will administer themselves once they have ulcer.

I also have Yunnan White Powder at home. I understand it can cure mouth ulcers as well, though I've not read the contraindications in detail.

IMO, the best antidote is take a tablespoonful of Cod Liver Oil before going to bed. Ds had an ulcer last week, but refused to apply Bonjela on the sore. (PS: Bonjela is ineffective. It only acts as a cooling 'shield'). So I fed him w a tbsp of orange-flavoured CLO. The ulcer disappeared the very next morning.

If just 1 ulcer or 2, I use the same method as slmkhoo, Salt water rinse. But if ulcers spread or are at the back of the mouth, out comes my manuka propolis spray.

My younger girl just finished exams and was going to a sleepover tonight, but her friend is sick! She says she will go out with the others anyway and won't be home for dinner (because the rest of us have something on). We plan to have our after-exam celebration on Sunday, before my poor older girl has to get back into revision again.

I bought it from NTUC supermkt, usu. displayed with the other common self help medications

Also available in Unity Pharmacy, displayed with those lozenges.

If you have never used it, do gauge the pressure you apply on the spray bottle and not aim at the back of your throat. Strong sudden pressure will result in a larger qty of powder discharged which might make your throat choke on the powder.

Trial test under the tongue or the sides of the mouth.

Before use, shake the spray bottle with the cap on up n down to lessen the powder inside for easier application.
