        Singkiasu:

        Su ying baked some pies.She gave 1/5 of them to her relatives .Then she gave 30 of them to her neighbours .She then had 2/3 of the pies left.She then packed the rest of the pies into 18 boxes.Each box has either 6 or 12 pies.

        (a)How many pies did she pack into the 18 boxes?
        (b)How many boxes had 6 pies ?

        My DD put for (a) 150 and (b) 11.Is she right?

        Based on information you provided, the answers did work out to be 150 and 11. :boogie:

        Thank you for the prompt reply:) hope the info given by her is correct ;(

            The 525 question is 3m but depends on whether you get method mark…

                there was one question in paper 1 where they had to draw a rectangle twice the area of the trapezium.. my dd said that they did not learn how to find the area of a trapezium? :yikes:

                Area is Average of 2 lengths x Height

                The trapezium can be broken down into a rectangle + 2 triangles.

                  For the Alice and Huda question,

                  I put 11.25 km/h as answer. Am I wrong and did they mention we have to answer in m/min?

                        Based on info provided, the answers are correct.

                        1/5 = 3/15

                        2/3 = 10/15

                        15 - 3 - 10 = 2 u --> 30

                        1 u --> 30/2 = 15

                        10 u --> 15 x 10 = 150 (ans a)

                        18 x 12 = 216

                        216 - 150 = 66

                        12 - 6 = 6

                        66/6 = 11 (ans b)
