      TWU:
      Hi yippee,

You may consider to let your child reads newspaper (parent must select right type of articles for child to read) and National Geographic magazine in order to develop her vocabulary and knowledge - such may help to improve her answering skills.
I have to add that you should get your child to read storybooks as well. It's advisable to read for at least 20 - 30 minutes a day. The more he/she reads, the more exposure he/she will get to written English. This will not only help with comprehension but also grammar, vocabulary and sentence structures.

Well-written piece of work, coherent, with smooth transition from scene to scene and good use of descriptive words by the P6 boy. However, it is a tad too flowery and resembles a model essay (or suggested response) from TLL English class. One sentence with 3-4 bombastic words, is not a natural way of writing.

I observe that many schools nowadays prefer their students’ essays to be original, with simple language usage (not too flowery) to convey the emotions and creativity of their pupils.

            I agree with lee_yl.

Under exam conditions, I don't think the child is able to write such a lengthy n descriptive essay. Too little time n I think examiners much prefer the student come straight to the point - relevant context. It gets boring after reading the lengthy text.

Agree. I have teachers lamenting to me over this type of writing. Good job done by the child - I really don't want to discredit him - but please don't ever let him think that this is what editors are looking for in the real world. It will be tossed out or heavily edited. I am glad to notice that schools are starting to acknowledge this problem.
