It’s over (almost)…nothing we can do to influence. Let them make merry and have joy in the coming days/weeks.

I only asked the general (did you finish, how was the paper [ok is the default answer]) becos I wanted him to focus on whatever’s coming.

      Till the results release day!

PSLE Science is a deceptively easy subject. Many think it’s general knowledge or commonsense. The difficulty comes from identifyg the topics and the related key words. I can understand why the children who are good in Science find this paper hard.

I hear that balloon question was only 1 mark. I doubt they are expecting aerodynamics for just 1 mark. I will hazard a guess that it was probably something about changing elastic force and having no fixed shape, working against gravitational force. These would be totally within syllabus and have been taught in many ways.

Tough papers don’t mean your A* hopes are dashed. If most can’t answer certain qns, then A* might still be within reach. Try not to be despondent. My elder daughter sat for PSLE in 2014. She thought because she made silly mistakes for one or 2 papers, she wont get A* for them but eventually she got 3 A*. Don’t worry yourselves sick.

Dd says a teacher was seen scolding a top boy for not finishing 2 qns from his Science paper. I thought that was uncalled for. He still has HCL tomm.

As adults not taking the PSLE, we dont know the pressure the children are experiencing in the exam. Dd’s teacher did a MCQ paper with the class. She had 6 mistakes out of 30 qns. There are several in class who scored full marks.
Under such tremendous stress and expectations from teachers/parents, I think the children did admirably le.

My dd says that the sci paper is harder than usual, she ran out of time to check but luckily checked along the way.......she says that one question they gave two lines ton write she wrote six lines.... no wonder no time, but hopefully and agar agar the points in the six lines

It is normal....they expected long answers....my son's teacher did the same too and I always complaint why 1 mark must write so long...my goodness.
