Coming back to PSLE preparation…how we prepare for oral exams since the resources are pretty limited? Is there any book to recommend for this (both Chinese and English)? There are many books for written papers but much lesser for oral…

I think Mrs NBM was the one who oversaw the applications. Mustn't be misled by father's lepakness πŸ™‚ πŸ¦†

We just bought 'ηœ‹ε½•εƒθ―΄θ―' by ε€§ζ‹‡ζŒ‡ through the school. It comes with CD. Will use that for practice first and also go through materials given by teachers. Other than that, we'll be immersing her in lots and lots of Chinese dramas and movies and speak mandarin more often.

Janet, therein lies another worry. I don't think it's healthy if the academic gaps between the two siblings gets wider and wider... Mothers tend to over worry? Oh well...

                yl,
no matter what, mothers tend to worry. towards the last mile, i was losing sleep and worried sick if she had been exposed to enough unforseen questions for science, done enough math word problems and had sufficient practice in her weak areas for english.

Hi Janet, ya, sometimes I also lose sleep bcos of guilt like have I done enough revision with her. I think my stress will get more intense as the day gets closer to PSLE. :lightrod:
Now that your dd's psle is finally over, I am so happy for you! You really deserve a good rest. πŸ˜„

leeyl , i understand -esp your girls age gap is closer. Need to constant remind to give elder girl a lot of emotional comfort, support and encouragement, i think girl will be more sensitive , plus this is the growing stage - inside the emotions is roller
coaster . yes mothers of course worry more coz we are women. You can do it, just be your loving self πŸ˜‚

Thanks for the advice. You are being very kind. I will be mindful to provide emotional support and more encouragement to DD1.

More often than not, even if I don't compare, the two girls tend to compare among themselves. I feel bad. Luckily, my dd1 is very big-hearted and not at all jealous about her sister's academic performance.

I have already picked a nice date to mark the start of PSLE preparation, 1st Nov, easy to remember. And my kids already protesting. :stompfeet: :siao: :faint:
Yes, we have been constantly revising topics taught earlier, especially for science. πŸ˜“

Me too. Have told my daughter we have to start on her Chinese soon after exam is over. Partly also because we'll away for a long holiday in Dec. .

This year likely no overseas trip for us due to other commitments.
As first time PSLE parents, it's kind of gan jeong for us. Need to seize every moment :nunchuk:
